Hey all, I am 14 yrs old and 5.7”currently riding a Honda CRF150F. I am thinking about upgrading my bike but I don’t know what to get. I ride a lot of bush trail and do some homemade motorcross which is intense. I would like a bike that requires minimal servicing and repairs, can take a pounding and has enough power to go over hills and jumps. Thank you all

I went through this 4 years ago with my 14 yr old. I was fortunate enough to talk at length about it with Kevin Windham and Matt Walker. Both of them knew my boy and both pretty much said if your goal is to get to the 250 class then go ahead and get the 250, so that's what we did and I am glad we did.

One thing to keep in mind is that you are currently on a 4 stroke. I know kids that went from a 150 Honda to the 125 2 stroke and have trouble making that adjustment.
Look at what your goals are, then go in that direction.
Btw, moving up to the 450 this weekend

If you're mostly trail riding and ya really want a bike that's dependable/inexpensive to own and has A TON of parts & accessories available?

Honda's CRF250X (later than 2009 is the best choice).
They're a little tame in stock from; but, there's plenty of "CRF-R" power in there that's easy to get out of it. The motor is really well built and even has electric start. The suspension is classic Showa (spring fork and shock from the R model) and is -also- really good and super inexpensive to work on. Wheels and a lot other parts are interchangeable with the R.

I've owned many & ridden/raced them in Baja with really great dependability and surprisingly amazing performance.

Good Luck!
