Nbc no longer allows you to watch 2019 and 2020 races purchased on sports gold and they are not on peacock which i purchased when they switched. I bought them in part for the replays and now they are gone.

You'll be hard pressed to find historical video footage of our sport in good quality. We spend more time removing video footage than we do actually making the stuff accessible to our new and current fanbase. It's the innovative way of growing the sport.

Yeah, seems to be a problem these days. All supercross races are hard to find on YouTube due to rights. Same with moto, and now we can’t even have the archives races. Bummer

It's almost as if in these meeting rooms they say "hey, how about we get rid of all the archived footage and every trace of it on the internet. That way nobody will be able to find a prior race that was just mentioned during the broadcast to have better context!"

Lol. Who am I kidding? During the broadcast we are too worried about talking about what the flags mean and backflipping monster trucks

I get a little angry every time I see them use a few short clips of PRISTINE clear footage from 90s and 2000s races in montages, yet that shit is made unavailable to the public... Then they make sure the crappy VCR recording versions are taken down constantly. And for what?

Why haven't they offered complete previous seasons in full/high definition for a small fee? I'd be all over it! I can't be the only one either.

Edit: Also want to say it sounds like a potential legal issue if they promised replays and have taken down recent seasons from Gold/Peacock. Not that anyone will pursue it.

Can you find replays of the Barnum & Bailey circus? Because if not, our sport is like a circus. If so, our sport is worse than a circus.

I have said this before in my previous life on this forum, but I don't understand why the media companies and race promoters work so hard to protect old content? The true value of an event is when it is live, and then there is a diminished value after the event for maybe 5-7 days and after that it is pretty much low value especially in a relatively niche sport and should be made available as free content. That's how we grow the sport and get people interested in watching live (and thus paying money to support).

Like DV said, we act like we are already big. Free content is what's going to pull in the new fans. What do they have to gain by taking down San Diego 2005 from YouTube?

I get the copyright ties. But I pay $10 a month as an avid UFC fan to have access to every fight that's ever happened.

It doesnt make sense to remove something we paid for. I emailed them and the response was the subscription ran out . The ads when purchased said we can replay them. I guess it was only for as long as they allow us to.

I would literally pay a reasonable fee to have access to an archive of the Nats.

Nearly every other sport!

I've never seen anything like this and this whole move to the Peacock app has just made it all worse. Way harder to find the races, literally zero archives.

It's a complete joke...I don't know who to be mad at, but I'm definitely mad at them.

Yeah it pisses me off. When me and the boy are working out we like to watch a replay to stay motivated. I know when I can start a rower session at the gate drop on an outdoor race, and go to the checkered flag, that I am in shape to ride and be safe. Very bummed that none of the content got ported over to Peacock. It’s not difficult to do. Bastards.

They used to be archived on promotocross.com all the way back to like 2009 and I noticed they took that down. So disappointing and I hope it is all revamped on peacock eventually. I would pay for peacock forever to watch historic races.

Nothing better than watching a 2-3 year old race on dailymotion in 480p. So sad honestly. Doesn't make any sense to remove more and more races from Youtube aswell, big yikes from me.

Yeah this move to peacock has been an L for sure compared to what nbc sports gold was. I would gladly pay the yearly fee for the gold pass to have all the archives again. Not to mention the interface was way better when sifting through all the trash to get to supercross on peacock.

Yip its frustrating. Used to be able to watch old races/seasons on the official Promotocross site however they all seem to have been removed as well. Sat down last night to watch some old ones to get me amped for the season, only to be left blue balled.

I have a current paid subscription to NBC Sports,Specifically the SX and MX package, and all of the national Motocross races are no longer available for viewing.

Why?

Youthstream -Infront still has races on their site from years past that I can watch.

DC if you are out there do you know any details?

Man- I had a large trove of old races on a spare hard drive that I got through bit torrent back in the day. Once everything was on Youtube, I deleted them! Dry

Everyone is trying to monetize to the maximum extent their content. They give no fvcks about the hardcore fan. We are fringe cases.

It is extremely shortsighted and really they aren't monetizing anything at all. They are keeping exposure of the sport at a minimum with seemingly no desire to draw more casual fans in. They gain nothing by hoarding the media content that makes up the history of the sport with no route for anyone to view it.

Offering more recent seasons for free on YouTube would be a great start. Follow that with releasing complete seasons as far back as they can go for a premium to the hardcore folks.

Edit: I don't know... Maybe I'm wrong about the whole thing. Am I missing the point of hoarding old races? Help me understand! 😂

Surely there's someone here with some pull that can let someone important know that there are many of us who would pay our hard earned money for some archived footage on demand. Now that indoor and outdoor are under the same tv contract, it surely can't be that hard to coordinate something. I thought we'd be in better shape being under one program, but Peacock has been nothing but setting us back. Between this and not being able to rewind during live racing, it almost feels like they're trying to axe the sport and give us the middle finger while they do it. It's a shame

Lucas Oil racing App has several years of Nationals races in the archive. They also have shitloads of racing. I think its $6/month. Cancel anytime.

Check out the Lucas Oil racing app. It used to have +5 years of Nationals archived. I let our monthly subscription expire, so I haven't checked in 6 months. But it was good. Lots of racing on that app. GNCC, Endurocross, MX, etc

So I just went back and checked the Lucas Oil app and they have all of the Nationals races dating back to 2014. They also have GNCC, AX, Endurocross, British MX, sidecar racing, GP races archived, etc. Tons of moto on that app. Its worth the money. They don't update the fresh races as frequently as I would have liked, but they eventually get them on there. If you wanted archived races, that's the spot.

I remember when NBC sports gold came out 2016 was gone and I was pissed and I believe pro motocross had years of seasons to watch for free and they got rid of those. It sucks. There are a few guys who post to YouTube and then there is always daily motion.
