Seems like there has been a few issues with bikes running dry of coolant and such but still no DNFs. Makes you wounder how long can a bike run with no coolant, how long could a bike run with no oil, ect.... Sounds like these modern day 4 strokes are a lot more durable than we think.

My old mans Maico 440 didn't need coolant so why should a factory 250f
There was a time when 2 strokes did not even have rads...so......
Pit Row
I had to rebuild the entire motor after.

When it’s your year, it’s your year, man. Ask The Smashing Pumpkins how well 1995 went for them. Everything they touched turned to gold including a double CD! Well, in years past Osborne’s valve cover gasket blowing out would’ve definitely led to a DNF but not this year. He nursed the bike home and then for good measure caught and passed Savatgy from a ways back in the second moto to take the moto win. He’s so hot right now.
As seems most of the experience here in this thread, I think that if you had a muddy race/tight course race, the bike may struggle to keep cool with no coolant and blow up...but a dry and open race where it has more chance to get more air cooling then the less likely its an issue.
I cant see ANY bike surviving more than 3-4 mins with no oil though, even if it did it would need a rebuild after.
