Can someone tell me what this part/guard is called on the 1997 KX250? I can't seem to find it anywhere on the OEM parts diagram.

Yamaha"s used to have these also, I think to cover up the poor brake hose routing! Maybe a YZ part would fit, they were white also....usually one of the first things to get torn off the bike after it dragged through a few ruts...

Seems pretty unobtainable. Unless you guys know where I could find that? And are there other options?

I keep seeing/hearing about a "cr style" brake line kit. Anyone know what that's about? Is that supposed to remedy this poor routing?

It reroutes the cable like all of the newer bikes instead of running underneath the fork lug.

The part is on the microfiche on the "Front Master Cylinder" page. Cost like $8
Good call. I just looked it up on Rocky Mountain and it's $8.45

Disbanded, that could be a viable option.

Change the bike to a newer model year. 1999 will work. Is the picture not your bike? I'm not sure if that part will fit up to the stock 97 forks. I have experience with the 99 KX chassis but not the earlier one.

try calling one of those 2 shops with the part number and I'm sure they can send it to you. I just looked them up on my dealer locater.
