Anybody hear how it's going in Norman? No updates on their Facebook page, or OMC track page either. Can't find any live scoring etc. I know the Ponca Nationals are giving them a hit on their entries. I got an email from OMC a couple weeks ago that because of qualifying rainouts everyone was welcome to race this year.

120 entries is what I have heard at Norman.
Wow, not much. Way less than an OK State race. Rodney at OMC is a great guy too. Probably the last year for that event.

No live timing there. I was told 156 entries, with 250C Stock being the largest class with 14 riders.

What a shame, that race always used to get 2,000 plus every year. Then on to Tennessee.

Wow, I guess everyone one will get out of there early. Anybody hear the number of entries at Ponca?

I hear you, amateur entries are way down everywhere except LL's. Local races just a few short years ago would get 2-300+ entries. State races 4-500+ was the norm. Amateur racing is definitely on the decline.

Ponca looks like it has about 400 entries. Not great, but alot better than Norman. Back as recently as 2011 Ponca would have more entries than that in just the C classes.

Within a few years we lost the Lake Whitney / Mosier Valley spring nationals and the Ponca City / LL tandem.

Sucks

I don't see how anyone is surprised OMC is not nearly the caliber of track it should be for a big race like that. It's alright for an OK state race or something but not for a national. I don't feel like it was even one of the better OK State race tracks.

I had a great time racing there a couple of years back with Dennis Hawthorne and Whisperen Smith. It poured rain the days prior and the track was incredible.
