Streaming services may be cancelled as soon as Sept 18th 2020. Haven’t found it anywhere specifically but I would think this includes the NBCsports and SportsGold Apps. Anyone else get the email this morning? Does this make my ROKU useless as the only reason I have it is to watch the races on the NBCsports apps?

Hope Roku is not in danger. We cut cable this year and do all of it by Roku through the internet.

Its not Roku, its Comcast vs. Roku.
Did a little digging and it looks like regular NBC channels under the NBC TV Everywhere umbrella (Bravo, SyFy E! NBC & others) will be affected, not the actual app which is a separate paid subscription service.
At least thats what Im reading into it.

Lets hope you are right as thats how I read it as well and as the others mentioned I cut the cord a while ago and am on ROKU exclusively. Mostly for the races as I don’t typically watch much tv.

So is NBC sports app getting deleted from roku? Their email didnt make sense to me. I read it as spectrum customers have to use the spectrum app to watch NBC channels.

Im close to giving these companies a middle finger and buying a jailbroken fire stick.

I never got an email with anything related to NBCSports or Roku.

I believe it’s to push nbc’s new streaming service “peacock.” I don’t think the NBC sports app will be affected.

HBO Max isn't on Roku, idk if that has anything to do with this - but I found that odd.

I got the same email and like all the others, I cut the cord and went Roku specifically for the NBC Sorts Gold app. I’ll be bummed if the app is part of the exit.

Roku sent another email today saying that everything with Comcast has been worked out.

Its for the network channels, they will all fall under the "peacock" app now. Nbcsports app and the gold subscriptions wont be affected. Roku will have the peacock app as well. My brother is a exec vp with time warner. They are doing something similar with the TW/TBS family of channels. Consolidate them in to one or 2 apps
