NBC is a step backwards

I understand that Fox Sports would jump back and forth between FS1 and FS2 but at least the races were live. I could watch for free on the Fox Sports app. I live in the Eastern Time zone. NBC isn't broadcasting the race until 11pm. This is bunk. I'm not a fan of NBC. In order to watch the race from start to finish I'm going to have to stay up until 3am. I'm not a fan of the Triple Crown circus anyway. Now I either stay off of social media or risk finding out the results. It's a shame. I don't see how this is helping the sport grow. I'm not paying $50 for a streaming app. I guess I'm too cheap. I pay for my satellite and it has NBC, all be damned if I pay for it twice. I'd rather watch an abbreviated version of the race on ESPN2 the next day than to watch it on NBC.

Your screen name is superfan yet you won't pay $90 for 30 weeks of racing? GTFO

Won’t pay for Gold? Guess you’re not much of a “superfan” then... amirite!? Photo

NBC Gold package is great!

Regular broadcast 1 hour late? Boo hoo. Fox would have just joined in progress and you'd have to live with highlights of the first main.

|

1/19/2019 6:26 PM

I am a Super fan
And i dont have the Gold package
Not because i dont want it or because i dont think its worth
It, just couldn't afford it this year, so i am feeling like its a step backward also

I had to miss all the fs2 races because I only had fs1. Delay is better than nothing.

|

1/19/2019 6:28 PM

It's growing the sport because Fox was no longer interested. Feld put together the best deal they could. At least it didn't end up on BEIN Sports.

Uuhhh??......even if it was live , you would be watching it at 10:00 PM. So you bitch that it's an hour later on the broadcast , but won't pony up for the gold package. Jesus!......a lot of us paid for this very reason there , mr superfan.

90 dollars is a ripoff but NBC knows there are lots of suckers who will pay for it.

Ripoff? $90 for SX and MX is a deal compared to what Feld offers. $130 for SX only. Now that's a ripoff.

Personally thought it was a great deal, also you love that you own the replays and can re-watch anytime you want. Was just watching outdoors from 2016 today while working out.

If thats not worth 90 bucks and you like dirt bike racing??? What is worth 90 bucks to you? Seems like a deal to me? Race day Live is cool....

Got any sources for "growing the sport"...I'd love to see that the NBC ratings are better than any of the free live streams before.

I’m a sucker. Been paying for AMA Nationals and MXGP for awhile now. Have a 27 inch computer screen on my toolbox and watch the Nationals every Saturday while I’m working. MXGP too plus the MXdN. So now I added Supercross. Might have to buy into MotoGP too, so I can see the Ebike racing.

You're a little off there...Fox was interested and was disappointed that they lost it to NBC

Youtube. Has every race.

I used to watch every race a few hours later on youtube when I was in the military too.

Personally, I was happy to pay the $90 to ensure I will catch every weekend of racing indoor and out as it’s happening. Plus watching practice with no worries about hooking up a computer is awesome.

You spend $100 on a decent dinner and a couple glasses of wine with your wife/girlfriends without thinking twice. $90 for 29 weeks of racing is really a bargain.

I also enjoy the NBC broadcasts more. Better camera work and less Monster-ish. Seems more professional IMO.

I was glad I had paid for the pass when the A1 night show showed 100% chance of rain. I watched practice, went home and enjoyed it from my couch while dry and with food/drinks of my choice.

How the hell does someone who has the time to post on vital every single day not have $70 a year for sx?

Oh wait. That might be your answer. Work more.

I would gladly pay 100 bucks IF it was point and shoot AND totally flawless. I'm not wasting a penny on something I can't figure out or needs fucking with to make work properly. Yes, I'm a techno dumbass and that's not gonna change so Vital is my coverage.

Lol. I remember watching the races a month after the fact at 2am on ESPN2. I'd gladly pay $200 for the gold package if I had to.

|

1/19/2019 7:12 PM

I like how there is a thread every week about NBC and sports gold.. I enjoy it because it gives me something to do during the during the commercial breaks downtime.. Sports gold is well worth it.

|

1/19/2019 7:13 PM

Ok go get a hdmi cable hook it to your pc and tv . Go through xbox etc to nbc gold. So many options $3 a race all live no commercials rewatch auto record . It cant be any easier. Go deliver pizzas 1 Friday night and you just paid for the yr

If I'm healthy enough to complain. I shouldn't be complaining.

Haven't had one problem with it on Amazon firetv, phone, or computer. Sidebar showing every rider in the race is awesome I have an idea what's going on off the screen by seeing the gaps between every rider.
