We dont know how good he will be on live TV booth based on his home analysis videos.
Sure level is not too high after recent ex-pro riders.

I’m sure Ricky could also give amazing off the couch insight when the pressure is off, its completely different.
Love James’ insight tho!!

Doing this on Live TV during the action is a different ballgame. Not saying James couldn't do it but there's no comparison between a live broadcast and a post-race-couch-analysis with the ability to film several takes.

Oh please....just stop a recorded wrap up (where he doesn’t even mention the points leader) and live TV are sooooo different....Take what you get and enjoy it for what it is...

Bump the front brake bud. Im a JS7 fan too but It takes a little more than chillin on your couch and a go pro to cover live motorsports.

We would not get all the insight or James' laid back style if he were trying to do it live. I would love to see a panel like ESPN Sports Center of James and maybe Reed next year. If Dungey was still retired he would make a perfect 3rd member on a panel. They could discuss the 250's too.

They used to bring in retired riders such as Windham and McGrath to be a 3rd person in the booth. Toronto 2014 with Windham comes to mind.

He comes on, in the videos with the "hip talk"...i.e. "I wanna watch it witchou"...but as he progresses in the commentary, he is quite articulate and well spoken. I think James would be an excellent choice to have in the box. Between RC & James, it's a toss up as to who knows more, and who presents the best.

James in the booth would be cool, but not the same product. Really liking these edits.

I love the James videos. He has always had a more relaxed on TV persona than ricky through the years though. I know live tv would be tough. But he seems to be laid back enough to not let it get to him. I figured that most of the ex pros wouldnt have a problem announcing after performing in front of huge crowds every weekend. But it's a different ball game.

The reason James would be better in the booth than Ricky is that he has a much better sense of humor.

I’m sure NBC has tried, at the very least to get him trackside. He went from not being heard from to doing these videos. Maybe the next step is something live at the races.
