With other stuff going on and not being able to ride much i've slowly been building my 300 xc into a sx. Here is a few photos from start to finish. Cant wait to ride this thing tomorrow now that its all done. Going to put a 52 tooth sprocket on it (50 stock) and that is it.
Parts:
fmf factory pipe with shorty silencer
SXS hard parts head
Electric Starter and electrical and battery removed with new ignition cover installed
PHDS bar clamps
Fastway lowboy pegs
Side stand removed
Factory Connection suspension with WP low speed valves (unreal)
Removed the giant gas tank (which I love the clear tank) and installed a 250 sx gas tank
Sudco 38mm carb
Maybe black rims if these bend like im pretty sure they will
Few pictures from start to finish
This was the first day on it, suspension sucks for mx
Big tank, kick stand and electric starter ready to get yanked off
Finished product

Only gripe: I don't know why anyone would put Motorex stickers on their bike, especially on a KTM, unless it was a sponsor. Those pale green stickers on orange bikes look terrible!
Other than that small detail, awesome bike!
i have no dignity left
KTM 250 SX: $6899
KTM 300 XC: $8099
TM 300 MX: $8440
That is still a pretty sweet bike though.
Awesome looking bike, almost makes me want a 2stroke
As far as why I did a 300 xc instead of the 250 sx is for a few reasons. My buddy has a few 12' 250 sx and I do like them but the 300 is easier to ride (for me). I have not owned a 2stroke in 12 years and rode 500 2strokes for a long time so the big bore is what I wanted. Yes I could have just got the 300 kit but the main reason was the resale value. I know the market of used bikes pretty well and sell a lot of bikes for friends and the 300 xc will sell way way easier than a 250 sx , at least here in Northern California. Everything I took off is simple to put back on. Its roughly about a $1k dollar difference between the two but in resale the 300 holds it's value much better and to a wider range of riders from track to offroad they seem to love this bike.On top of that I like to build bikes up . Ive only ridden it a few times but holy crap it is fun to ride and for not riding a two stroke in 12 years I was able to go pretty much go the same speed on my buddy's 300 he did compared to my 350 sxf. The weight difference is HUGE between a 450 , no comparison between them and the fun factor rivals the 350 if not even more. Also, there just so damn simple to work on and no fuel pumps, clogged FI ect to ever worry about.
The suspension from Factory connection is by far the best suspension ive ever ridden on, ive had all the big name and local shops do bikes for me but this thing is like riding on air its unreal. I kick myself in the ass for never even giving the 2stroke a chance from the day the yz 400 came out but it only took about 5 laps on a friends 2stroke and it was a flashback and a whole lotta fun!
Pit Row
ps... sorry for the hijack attempt, am just curious as i was going to go pick her up tomorrow but that seems steep
Switch, ya I know but my black bars had a little notch in them and was not willing to run them.Had the orange bars so put them on but ya I dont really care for the color either.
