Okay, so I love my women don't get me wrong. But, I feel like this whole "Makeup 2 Mud" deal is pointless. Im a firm believer in girls can ride and do anything just as well as the boys can, but the female motocross pro racing industry is dead. Why pitch to a dying brand? If anything maybe they should feature up and coming amateur racers (boys and girls) which would help with there futures program, or even highlighting people making a difference and impacting the industry to help it grow. Those are just my thoughts. Lets hear yours!

Had very little to do with Women's Pro Motocross. She's a 4th grade teacher that's helping to grow the sport. Good on her!

That was excellent. Good job Feld. Helping the sport instead of helping the person is what will ensure they have a product in years to come.

Isn’t about getting more people into the sport? I love how she sends a letter home with the kids letting the parents know that a dirt bike might be in the future. You have to wonder how many girl friends who were watching with their guys last night decided to try riding because of that segment?

I think it’s worth the effort to appeal to the female audience, but I think they could also highlight amateurs, industry people and maybe even local tracks. I have a 3 week old daughter and when she gets older i think it would be really cool for her to see female riders highlighted during the broadcast. The segment has gotten better since they first started. The first few were maximum cheese, the one last night was good.

That story was perfect and worth it to portray to an audience. A teacher using supercross to help kids learn and also appreciate the sport. Winning!

Had a 10 yo girl in my shop Saturday begging her dad for a dirt bike. It would not hurt my feelings if she saw that with her mom, who seems to be the problem with her getting one. There is a lot of dead time in Supercross, it beats more commercials.

How anyone that wants our sport to grow and live on in the future can see the A1 Makeup 2 Mud segment as a bad or negative thing is beyond my mind.

Fantastic segment this weekend!

i think its less about the female pro mx industry and more about the average recreational rider, thats the target. you want to get the average household involved. and if you can get mom involved/ approve of mx thats huge.

This was one of my favorite of these segments. It was well done imo. It wasn't about how females can compete with men, it was just a great feature showing a young lady who loves the sport and enjoy's sharing it with others.

I'm not a chauvinist at all and like to encourage females in their endeavors (I have a daughter), but let's face it, females still have a ways to go to be able to compete in this sport with the very best or in sports such as football. There are many females who can kick my pitiful behind on a dirt bike and I'm not embarrassed to admit that, but comparing them to the very elite in the sport is not sensible.

I believe everyone should have the opportunity to try and achieve their goals and I support those efforts. This segment to me helps motivate these lady's and I'm all for it.

I thought it was a good segment and I hope they keep doing a lot more of "just regular people riding dirt bikes". If you want to build the sport, showing families just having fun goes a long way to making it real for well, real people.

I am raising two daughters. Anything that helps pique their interest in this sport I am all about.

It’s not about women’s motocross as a sport to pursue a career in, it’s about the hobby of riding dirt bikes.

Absolutely awesome segment. This is a woman who lives and breathes moto (just like the rest of us) and oh, by the way, went to college to earn a degree in a field that she would be underpaid at, to teach children how to learn. If you have a problem with that, you need to take a hard look in the mirror kid.

I like it.
Breaks a few preconceived ideas about MX/SX fans and gives the casual viewer a positive outlook on the people who love this sport. And it's really nice to let little girls know they can do something else than hold a board dressed as a stripper.

For some of y’all in here...

The segment ain’t for you, about you...and it certainly isn’t aimed at you.

There’s sooooo many in here that talk shit on ANYTHING aimed at the casual fan or any new market segment. Then you go on to bemoan that motorcross is dead or it’s shrinking.

Worse, yet, some of you think yourselves “core” and talk shit on some fan that wears their Moto jersey to the races.

Know this, in far too many cases...
You’re NOT “core”.
You ARE the problem.
You’re not doing anything but bitching about efforts to reach and/or create new riders and fans.

Luckily, that young lady and the children that are lucky enough to have her in their lives could give 2 shits about what some jerk off tough guy is saying on Vital.

My daughter will be introduced to both motocross and golf. You can guess which one I’m hoping she goes pro at.....rhymes with Rolf.

But if she wants to do wmx and I gotta spend $100,000 to do it.... whatever I’m gonna spend time with her. That’s all I know !

I agree, very good story. Do they pick a winner at the end of series?

My son grew up playing junior golf tournaments all over the east coast. Some of the most enjoyable times of my life. He played golf in college but didn’t pursue it professionally. I wish your daughter all the best. There are many opportunities for females in golf. Many golf scholarships for females go unused every year. That’s a huge shame. If she follows the same path as my son did, you will have a blast and it will create a strong bond between you two. Just let her enjoy and do with it what she desires. Just like with mx, some parents take the fun out of it for their children.
