My sons first race!

Edited Date/Time 11/11/2018 8:11pm
So, last Christmas I bought my son his first dirtbike. Well today we finally let him race. He had a blast. Right after pulling off the trail he asked when he could race again. I'll admit I'm one proud dad this evening.

That’s awesome. I have a 2 year old and he absolutely loves moto. He has a PW but is still a bit unready to ride alone. He sits on it in the garage, rocks on the stand and yells “look dad, goin’ through whoops!” Congrats in the successful race, couple more years and we’ll be there too.

YES!!!!! I remember my first race, and my son with his! Keep this fun, and stress free. My son chose to put racing aside so he could pursue his college education, and I couldn’t be prouder. We still ride, just now, different disciplines. As long as the two wheels are turning, we smile. Enjoy every moment, always praise, and remember the excitement you felt when you got him his first ride. That adrenaline rush alone is exactly how he’s feeling now! Cool huh? Keep it fun, for most importantly he, and yourself, the end rewards are some of the best you’ll ever achieve in life. Well done Dad, you’ve just shown him what it’s all about! Proud of you, and your little racer!

Looks like he's ready for training wheels and a leash for you to run with! I started my son and nephew at 2 that way at the same time! My daughter turns 2 in 3 weeks but she's a runt and can't reach the controls yet. It'll only be half as hard on me starting her off.

We need a Moto Dad section for the forum

Katie raced her first race at LMXP (Highsider) on an Action Small Fry (lowest seat height of any race 50).
When she came off she told me "Dad the KTMs are faster!"
We raced for the first time, on every displacement motorcycle, at LMXP (we miss it Jim).
After Katie made it to Loretta's Jim had a custom award machined for her (it looks like the top of a spark plug) and says local ledgend Katie McKenna. I'll never forget her first race or what Jim did for us!
She finished 5th that day and the trophy she got was bigger than several of the 1st place ones she got later!

PRAY!!!! HOPE AND PRAY WITH ALL YOUR HEART THAT HE ISN'T FAST!!!! Best thing that could happen is he is a smart safe racer and rider. Because I remember how much fun it was when my boy was just a mid-pack local rider. We would go race local races, hangout and just have fun. Then one day when he was about 15 (when his balls dropped, lol) he got fast. My pocket book has been empty and i hardly get to ride ever sense. LOL,I'm half joking and half true. Glad to see more kids in the sport. Take more photos then you think you should, these days go by so fast.
