Last night I had the idea that it might be fun to take some of the old brochures I use for my Classic Steel columns and do a quick look back at them. This first one is for the 1988 YZ80, YZ125, YZ250 and YZ490. I had a 125 and 250 from this year and really enjoyed them both, even though they both had a few quirks.

I have hundreds of these classic brochures so if everyone digs this one I will do some more.

That's awesome! I love everything you post man.

Could you do the 93 YZs next? That YZ80 was my first love.

Cool. I liked it.

At some point, would you be interested in talking / showing your magazine collection?

Sure, what would you like to see? I would not think we would want to go through all of it because there are so many of them.

Hi. I was curious as to somewhat of an inventory list of sorts, I guess.

Which titles
starting from date to ending date
number missing if any

that sort of thing

I have a little over 1,000 with a few titles.

I am curious as to what others collect.

Thanks for the brochure pictures on Flickr or wherever it is that you had a bunch of pictures. I have a lot of the KX / KDX ones. I am finally getting around to properly sorting them and selling off the ones I don't want. (brochures)

I agree. I loved that bike but was stuck with a 89 model. My dad said I was so slow because of my corner speed. Not the bike...... looking back, he was right.

It's got a Rick Melon front plate. That was worth the price of the bike.

Love the 1982 YZ250 front plate. Makes the build IMO

1988 was my first 250 going from a 125. I love my '88. That bike was a huge change that year from previous models.

Better aerodynamics for the Ghettocross World Championships up and down the street? That must be why they took off all the other plastic too lol!
