Anyone have the Honda video with him from likw 99 or 00 when he talks about "flying" and it shows him and tortelli on their 00' RC250's going through a rythm section?

wish he would of stuck around longer...till this day people still talk about how much raw speed he had

I remember Yogi came out blazing fast on that Mach1 Yammy in 04. That injury at SLC that year was a bad one Sad
He was really fast on that bike when he was "on". I read in some mag that he bested all of Chad Reed's fast lap times at the yamaha test track in preseason testing. The article said that Reed has people video taping Lusk riding after that.

I first learned of Lusk in the July 1986 issue of MXA, I think that was the one with the huge Vegas mini GP article. Lusk was on a SUPER tricked out KX60 that had a custom disk brake in the back. Probably the trickest 60 in the country at that time.
I always like Ezra.

By the way Tony, I love your posts, man! The 500cc national stuff from 91 is gold. I was never a 500 rider but I've grown to appreciate the machines. Any more 500 stuff would be welcome. Thanks for posting the vids.

My pleasure. Thank you for the kind words. I really miss watching the 500 2 strokes race in person. Those things just sounded soooooo cool. Best sound ever.

1999 CR AD by teyblyy, on Flickr
I remember him at the 1999 World Supercross in Pasadena. He went out and smoked everyone on his factory Honda, including McGrath. Looked like a robot......

Yogi was a freakn animal... The guy rode hurt so many times, and even then was ridiculously fast... He would ride through nearly anything.. just a beast who doesn't get mentioned as much as he should...

Ezra made the 1999 Cr250r look so good that I actually went and bought one as my first brand new bike. Had Pro Circuit do a bunch of engine work. The bike was a rocket ship, both in speed and vibration. The bike was really a piece of crap, but it did increase my respect and awe in what young master Lusk was accomplishing on it.

I think it was a Dallas Supercross where Ezra was on point and dominated McGrath and others. Great racing!

Lusks battles with MC in 98 and 99 is the reason my passion for this sport is what it is.

Loved it when this guy did good and I got to see him ride at Bercy in 99.

These threads are the best part of Vital. Thanks Tony.

Just watched Phoenix 2003 a week or so ago in honor of my buddy trading his 250f for some roached out decade older 2003 KX250. One of my favorite races and I believe it was Lusk's last pro win.
