So, I am a proud dad right now. We just got back from rd. 1 of the Swapmoto series, and my kid threw down!
She didn’t win, but we put her in the “beginner”’class, which is actually a step above their true beginner, or “starter” class. Several of those kids were clearly what I’d call “Novice,” or “c” riders.
My little girl almost looped out on the start, but reeled it back in and stuck her wheel in on some dudes. She made a few passes and got passed back but landed in 16th out of 21 riders in Moto 1. She was running 16th again in moto 2 but crashed on the last lap and couldn’t get started for awhile. I think she ended up in 20th. We’re waiting for the results to post so we can see her overall.
A neat thing about Swapmoto is that we ran a transponder, so I got to see lap times. She was within a one second margin on all 5 laps, and on the same second each lap as guys who finished as high as 8th. Now we’ll work on her starts and see how it it goes.

Friggin awesome!

Took my 16 yo step, daughter out to Elsinore today. We sold her big wheel about a year ago and she has since been out a few times on my 125.

Congrats on her finishing her first race!

So great! I just bought my 10 and 6 year old daughters bikes finally and I’m so pumped to get them to their first race and experience this.

Thanks for sharing, from one girl dad to the other!

Probably not, but we might be at one of the rounds in Perris or County Fair. She says she's all about this, so we'll be racing more in the future, for sure!

That's going to instill so much confidence. She'll being hanging with her peers holding her head a little higher! I know when I was that age, no matter how I finished in what class, I'd show up to school on monday thinking, hell yeah, you know what I was doing yeaterday?...kickin ass on my minibike!

Congratulations! Proud parent moment for sure. I too got to share the same experience this weekend with my 7yr old son. We raced a local arenacross and had a blast. He raced a ttr110 in the 65 beginner class and came out 7th out of 12 kids. He was shivering with excitement at the gate. It damn near brought tears to my eyes. It's things like this us moto parents dream about. Wonderful memories made.

That is a proud moment, nice work Dad. Always cool to see girls interested in moto and even better to see she rides the lesser spotted yellow machine!
