They are constantly getting flooded there.

Always a bummer to see this for them. That place is awesome and we prefer to travel there than rider our local podunk tracks.

I don't think it's the first time 3 palms has flooded. Never been there but I have heard nothing but nice things about the place. Hope they come back strong!!

I loved riding there when I lived in Houston during college. Probably still one of my favorite places.

But its been flooded before still sucks balls though. That's a lot of work gone down the drain.

3 Palms is a great place to ride. I hope they can bring it back and it doesn't go the way Troy Ohio did.

One of the previous hurricanes there was a TV clip of the then operator of Rio Bravo getting rescued from a rooftop by a helicopter.

It seems like a lot of tracks are built around creeks and valleys and low lying property that isn't suitable for development since the land is cheap. Luckily, it doesn't ruin everything, but it is a huge setback financially for them.

I was told 3 Palms almost didn't reopen after last flood, and this one is worse.

Anyone who grew up riding in Houston has ridden at that location in Conroe since the 80's or maybe even earlier. In the mid 80s there was a track across the freeway from where 3 Palms is now which was destroyed by a flood and in the late 90's there was Conroe Motocross at the same location as 3 Palms which closed after a major flood. The 3 Palms owner used to own Mills Rd MX in Houston which was a practice track for many years before he bought it and turned it into a race track. Unfortunately the surrounding neighborhoods started to encroach so he acquired the land in Conroe and built 3 Palms. Emil is a pillar in the Houston motocross community and I hope he is able to weather the storm (pun intended) and reopen sometime soon.

Houston has now been swamped with 500 year floods TWICE IN TWO YEARS. The golf course by my house just now recovered about a month ago from last years flood. Took a year and a half to cover. Part of it washed away. They were only fully operational now a couple weeks, and now under water again. Not sure why you would not throw in the towel after that. Sad.

Thanks Logan. Wow, devastation beyond what you might imagine. Let's hope and pray that the tradition started way back in Conroe by Bill Law and carried on by Billy Click on the other side of the river is able to continue for future generations of Houston riders.

As much as I love the heritage, at some point you have to question the business model. The owners deserve to be well compensated for their investment, and the cost to rebuild continually is just not realistic. Just as the city encroached on his previous location, the river encroaches too frequently on the current one. A relocation is warranted this time if he can pull it together.

Check out this flood picture from last year: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/dKO7XBmnh9U/maxresdefault.jpg

Here's the video from the drone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKO7XBmnh9U

Gonna be a while before it opens.. anyone who lives in a reasonable amout of time away should ride upon opening to support the track.

Anybody who knows anyone with such things should help after the water is down, someone with machines or dirt or even old concrete could help rebuild.
