This race was misleading. It was RJ's first one back after breaking his wrist Gainsville. It was at Mammoth and he smoked everybody. I remember a friend at the time commenting that he was going to come back and wax everyone, Well as we all know Johnson was never really the same rider again. He would show the occasional flashes but his dominating days were over.

RJ always had the coolest clothes but I never really liked the JT stuff he wore. The 89 stuff was not too bad but the 90 Cyborg stuff was just stupid and ugly.

That picture always amazed me, I think it was an MXA pic.

Never mind, I found it in video form. I guess 100ft was a stretch due to my bad memory, but still impressive none the less.

I'm sure I do but I think most of them are in black and white. I'll see if I can find them.

Sano indeed, Scooby; refreshing to boot compared to gaudiness of the modern. That photo looks like Gainesville, don't know if anyone can confirm.

Pretty sure that is 1985. In 1986 RJ was on Honda and he raced the 500 support class at the Unadilla GP.
