I'm betting the 2023 yz 250 gets the motor package like the 2022 yz 125.
And….could do nothing for another 17 years. Yamaha plays a poker hand well. but I’m with ya. Hoping for some engine updates like the 125 on the 250s for next year….

Good for you!!! Things are so crazy with bikes right now as in still waiting for my 21 yz250f to show up, yet your 2022 yz250 is at the warehouse🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️. My bike was supposed to be here in may, but kept getting pushed out further. Last update on mine, said that the bike was on the water and waiting to come into the port.
I hope you got yours. They have several on the showroom in Oregon at Power motorsports where Tim just picked up his smoker.

Im planning on picking one up, and heard from my dealer any day now. I am curious to the people that have them already, how does the seat come off? Is the black nob looking thing on the back of it holding it on?

Hard to tell. Here is a diagram though (safe to click on) https://www.partsfish.com/oemparts/a/yam/60ec9bbf87a8661b6c0aa828/seat

That looks exactly like my son's YZ 65 seat except it doesnt have the hole with the #3 casing, you just peel the back corner of the seat foam up to expose the #4 bracket and seat bolt.

Picked mine up. It definitely has a more modern flatter feel than the older model. Almost like you sit on top of the bike a little more.

It's a crazy market. I called Power and they will get 10 bikes max at $10k. That is over $2000 MSRP.
Buy elsewhere. There is no reason to support a dealer that charges $2k over retail. Power is attempting to do it on all makes and models. If you jump on cycle trader you can find respectable dealers who will sell at msrp and not hyper inflate for some Covid bs greed logic.

YZ250’s will exist on earth long after roaches are extinct. How cool would YZ250 only Classes be?!

Question for YZ250 owners; I have a 2018 and one complaint I have is it feels cramped. I’ve got bars as far forward as possible would still like more forward. Any triple clamp or bar mount options that any have tried?

You need taller bars like the windham bend.
