MXA may make mistakes, but you have to admit they have staying power. That they continue printing about a small niche sport like MX since the early 1970's shows long term commitment and love of the sport. Like 'em or not, they deserve respect for their longevity. Besides, back when I was a kid, finding the new MXA at my local drugstore was like Christmas once a month for a moto crazy kid!

They're still one of the best for sure. Their websites a bit lacking but still a staple of the industry I agree.

Last month I was reading MXA and they used “your” instead of “you’re”...I was appalled...the nerve of MXA.

What next?! Forget to cross a T or dot an I?

A new thread should be started every time we find an error..

We should run them out of business! Pinch

They mixed a little CR125 in as well. Check out the decal by the head tube.

I saw the CR125 head tube, too. I actually kinda like Jody Weisel. I'm 57 now and have been reading his stuff (maybe not all of it Puliltzer Prize winning!) since I was 16. That's a long career devoted to dirt bikes.

I love MXA.
But it is not that effing hard to edit. I don’t mind some of the little mistakes, becasue no one is perfect. Just put a little more time into editing.

While they do make some silly mistakes that you have to laugh at, at least they ride, race and spend time on the test bikes before giving an opinion. Unlike some other media around here who spend almost no time on test bike before trashing it.

I love how "fans" of the sport tear down proponents of the sport.... Brilliant.

It’s crazy. If a track was a little dusty they will go on message boards and bash the track and say it should get shut down. We fight enough to keep things going. Let’s not fight ourselves

Yup.

...and then there's all the Suzuki hate.

Name one other mag that tests bikes so thorough.
Say what you will about their deliver or god forbid a grammatical error, they are the gold standard for bike tests.
Real solid info and advice.
Try adding a tooth on that rear sprocket and then tell us if it’s better or not.
Obviously sometimes the advice is tailored to hard dry SoCal tracks and isn’t pertinent to tight east coast trails but why all the hardcore hate on this site?
Literallly plenty of things to be pumped about and it seem a large majority want to bag on mxa, Suzuki , noobies and racers. Like it really makes you feel good to shit on people and products in a tiny and I mean tiny niche of a lifestyle?
Go ahead and hate your hobby into extinction.

Exactly. They make real world suggestions, based on what works when riding and/or racing over a significant period of time.

One of the few Magazines that criticise any bike.

Most magazines - “The mellow power delivery makes this bike perfect for riders stepping up to this class” (Provided they want to be back of the pack after the start, and work harder in the turns to overcome the power deficit.)

MXA - “Power is everything in this class, this bike is slow.”

Most magazines- “Being the heaviest bike on test gives this bike a solid feel”

MXA- “Pro’s spend mega bucks on Ti and Carbon parts for a reason. This bike would cost $10K in Ti, to get it close to the lightest bike from the show room!”

MXA - live/love/ride MX. Good enough for me.

They ganked me with the $25 gift card for subscribing again. Never received it and was given two different BS excuses.

Not really a reader anymore, though I do still support them with an annual digital subscription. They aren't perfect, they're getting a little long in the tooth, but we need more publications like them in our world, not less.

I don't know if they still do it, but when I was a kid MXA always had a tiny "ATTN RETAILER: PLEASE DISPLAY UNTIL" with a date printed on the cover. You could guarantee I was going to 7-11 on my bike the day after that.

I bought the latest issue. Giant 2stroke special was the reason. I would like to see a pipe test including hgs, scalvini on the yz125. No cr125 out there for sale. Oh and other bolt on performance stuff. Like a rad valve, vforce and ignition test. I think a rv would help with quickness out of corners. YZ is supposed to be quicker to get on the pipe. Rad valve with the right pipe and ignition. I think the other 125,s would hv trouble running it down on straight ways.

I'd like to take their opinions as valid and I'm sure they are, but I question why every single bike they tested for the last 30 years needed a rear sprocket one tooth large
Id like to see Kawasaki drop off a new 450 to test with a 72 tooth sprocket and MXA would write they had to put a 73 rear on to get it to pull out of corners

Haha yeah, I,ve done that too, after reading the mag. Then ride the 125 and think, why would anyone add a tooth. To make the powerband shorter with no topend. Maybe they do hill climbs.

They should get the proofreaders from Dirtbike Magazine (Sister Publication) to do some double time at MXA. They have some really glaring punctuation/sentence structure errors sometimes, but I really trust their technical breakdowns and analysis for some reason. I feel like they're the only magazine that tests bikes long enough each cycle, to expose problem parts and reliability issues.

Its like they outsourced the editing to a Journalism major-stoner in college.

The mag is still good, but the website has always been Stumpy Phalange’s department.
