Obviously we saw a complete domination today but I dont think the championship is over Musquin can beat tomac at Glen Helen, Thunder Valley, High Point, Tenessee, Sprink Creek, Washougal, Unadilla, and Ironman. Today was arguably Tomac's best track he won his first race in 2010, dominated by over a minute in 2015, and pretty much did the same thing today as last year. Musquin will be able to compete and gain points at tracks like Washougal and Unadilla while tomac will win at Southwick and RedBud. It really comes down to who can avoid the big mistakes because both of them are faster than the rest of the field. What do you guys think?

I think it’s pretty clear Marvin doesn’t have Eli’s raw speed. His only hope is that Eli has problems. If things go smoothly for Tomac he’s unstoppable right now.

For sure tomac has the raw speed and ability to win straight up but I think musquin has really improved over the last few years from being a guy that would let riders by and try to latch on to a more agressive rider and I think now musquin could win at the track he is good at as we saw last year in washougal where he easily beat tomac both races and we both know neither of them are dungey and are bound to make a mistake.

Last year I thought Musquin put up more of a fight at Hangtown. Expected him to have more today but its a long season.

High Point and Washougal are Musquin tracks. Southwick and Red Bud are Tomac tracks. Otherwise I think either guy could be the better guy on any given day.

In my opinion no one that races in america can beat tomac when he is on. Now that said, we will see if he will be consistent enough this year. musquin is more consistent. And that can win a championship. But if Tomac keeps it on two wheel there is no chance.

This was the first time the U.S. squad had raced this bike outdoors. I think they're still learning.

But yeah, Tomac had him covered today.

Can we wait for a few more round before saying one rider or another has this championship?

I think Marvin is fast enough to push Eli into that big mistake, but he isn't fast enough to beat him straight up week-in-week-out.

Didn't Marvin win like 3 races in a row last year? This season is far from over.

Far from over. Marvin found a lot of speed during the last season.

Doesn’t seem like Tomac is too concerned with retaliating on Marvin. I guess passing him and dropping him is retaliation enough.

When Tomac has a good day and you lose 6 points, you’re fine. He will have bad days and give you 30 points fairly often, so Musquin is in a good spot.

It seems to me that either of these 2 have a very good shot at winning this championship. It seems that they both have their days, for better or worse. Do not forget Anderson. I do not think we have seen all he can do yet. I think Baggett and Barcia also could have a shot at it given the right circumstances. It seems there are some who always want to give Tomac the championship after round 1 and some even before, but it seems the past few series that he has serious struggles in round 2. He needs to make it through that one without catastrophic issues before we start thinking he can run away with this thing. Lets wait and see where they are at after round 6 or 7, even then it might take all the way to round 11 or 12 to start having this discussion.

In the back of tomacs mind is tomacs mind. If he gets beat he'll beat himself since he is clearly on another level that nobody else is on or even near.

2 down, 22 to go. Lots can happen. If we could predict it, we wouldn’t need to have the races.

Yep. The only rider that can beat ET3 is ET3. If he steps up his game mentally he'll dominate the series.

Eli is next level. Marv is going to need every start and hope Eli breaks a few belt buckles.

You don’t just find 4 seconds overnight.

How in the hell Eli fell then got up and went even faster is insane. I think he was actually saving that speed for the end of the last 10-15 mins of the race but after than happened it was on! I remember Carmichael doing similar. It always seemed around the 15 min mark he would drop the hammer and start to lay waste. Anyway great race!

When Tomac starts getting comfortable it doesn't bode well for him. He's playing right into Marvs hands Smile
Yes Marc just keeps dominating him I’m sure Tomac is tired of Musquin wining the majority of races.

I think Musquin let Tomac win like he did in Vegas.
And dungey. Marv does that sort of thing and maybe he’ll just let tomac win every race this season too, right?

Watching Marvin on a gnarly outdoor track is awesome, he's so crafty and fast. That said, no one was on Tomacs level obvously so it will be interesting to see if anyone can run his pace on SOME tracks.
