David Vuillemin just Tweeted this video - I can see how his hand got messed up, but how the Hell didn't his face/neck/shoulder get F'd up?

Think David Izer pointed out, his neck brace worked in his favour in this crash... screw having that CRF250 back wheel tearing across your throat!

That was crazy how it hit him right in the chin area.

No kidding, he looked like a ragdoll and stopped dead when he hit that haybale.

And the back tire just sort of hung up in the air waiting for Musquin to headbutt it. Weird deal.

I can remember thinking , "Yes finally, he's got a good start. All he's got to do is stay out of trouble for a few corners and..... Oh fuck!! I don't believe this!" Title over right there.

It happened so quick I couldn't believe it. I thought Marvin would have plenty of room to sneak past but I didn't count on that Geico Honda rear end coming round. One of those things of course, no one's fault.

The problem for Marvin now is that he's had a couple of set backs, mechanicals, injuries etc, that go right back to last years MXDN. With the exception of Hangtown last week, he hasn't really been able to keep his hand in. And eventually that will tell on his speed. Just like BT, he need's a run of good luck in order to get back into the swing of things.

x2 could be a downward spiral.

Really its hope not. Like you I was really happy for him slotting into 2nd and thinking right, lets see what he can do here... then whack! Game over. So gutted for him, he deserves to be able to show what he can do.

I'll bet MM has a sore neck today though. It looked like his neck stretched out about 6".

Holy Shit! That's Filthy! Musquin is lucky he wasn't hurt really bad. Sorry he messed up his hand and all, but he could have be seriously hurt right there.

Sucks for Marwin, he really wants to prove his speed but cant get a break. Just as fast as Roczen, only not so outgoing.
Gruesome crash, he looks like one of those bobble-head dolls coming of the bike.

sucks for Barcia too, but at least he brought it on himself. Plus no injuries.

Yeah that was bad
I was being sarcastic. He doesn't wear one.

It looked like the back tire came up under the helmet and caught him on the chin or mouth. Damn, that could have been real nasty.

MM is lucky it was just a thumb injury and not a broken jaw!, Whats the recovery time for a thumb injury like that?
5/29/2011 3:47pm
MM is looking back to make sure noones going to ram his arse before he's even hit the floor! Could've been soooo bad though..

That crash is just as scary as alessis red bud crash. Compound fracture thumb is for sure season ending injury. Hope it's not career ending.

Nasty on both accounts!

Barcia picking the wrong or just missing the line? Hard to say

Looked like he had over cooked it, again hard to say

Very unlucky for MM

While everyone watches Musquin take a huge hit, not many people see Barcia lay there motionless for a second or two then hop up like nothing is wrong. If I'm not mistaken Barcia has 3 out of 4 holeshots this year. If he can keep up those starts and smooth out he may take this title. This is his third year outdoors so he is a so called "veteran" of the lites now.

The only thing with Barcia (other than a couple of mistakes) is his fitness, otherwise he'd look significantly better. He does have a shot at this title and will, in fact already has been, a factor but guy's like Wilson and Rattray will be well aware that at the end of a long gruelling moto that they can still go full throttle... and that Barcia probably can't.

Fitness is definitely his downfall. He did come from way back in moto 1 to get a top 10 though. That had to of taken a lot out of him.

Nasty wreck.

I can't believe the amount of track cutting going on there, they would've had to penalize 2/3rds of the field. I guess if a bike is down its completely OK to cut the corner off now?
