SÖLDEN / HOCHGURGL. Shortly before half past four in the morning, FF Sölden was called to a fire in the Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum in Hochgurgl. The building was already smoky, so several fire departments were alerted immediately. The emergency services were challenged to prevent them from spreading to the restaurant and the valley station of the Kirchenkarbahn. The building is made almost entirely of wood and was only opened in 2016. Depending on the exhibitions, between 200 and 300, some of them very rare, vintage cars were always on display in the motorcycle museum. The cause of the fire and the damage to property are still being recorded. FF Sölden, Gurgl, Vent, Längenfeld and Imst are in action.

Just from sheer value inside, something more than extinguishers at least. Sprinklers are extremly common in any buildings here now for code purposes alone. Bummed for them

What a sad deal, all that HISTORY lost forever--can't imagine what the Owners of these motorcycles must be feeling right now.

I know I was heartbroken when I had a garage fire and lost my 87 Honda Hurricane and 81RM125 Full Floater. Was going to keep those bikes forever.
The Yami 426 and car I felt no real pain, it was replaceable.

Still hurts when I see pictures of those RM's. Sad

Wow, what an immense loss. Cars, snowcats, all those motorcycles. Just imagine how much time and effort went into restoring all those beautiful bikes and cars and the creation of that amazing building. Hard to believe such a new, expensive building didn't have a fire suppression system or it failed.
