Does anyone use or know what any of the teams use for muscle recovery? Looking at some massage guns that will help muscle recovery after endurance races and workouts.

I have heard good things about the Theragun G3PRO and wanted to know if anyone has good experiences using this gun or if there are others out there. I hear some of the top rated ones are loud and cant find much information if they have brushless motors or not.

Thanks!

Check out the Hyperice Hypervolt. Super quiet. Battery last forever. Comes with a few different attachments.

A suggestion that can help in addition to stretching, and massage. Try to incorporate a good protein/amino acid supplement for your post ride recovery. Nothing replaces real food, but for immediately after your rides a quick shake containing protein, and aminos will definitely jump start recovery.

Rather than throwing down all that cash for a Theragun, just get a jigsaw and a massage adapter kit from Amazon. You can easily put together your own (either battery or wired) for under $100.

They do work btw.

your muscle are exhausted and tore apart, a good diet afterwards will help them rebuild and eventually you won't have sore muscles after a hard ride. The occasional massage is great but a little warm up and stretch before riding is a good habit to form.

Assuming your diet is reasonable on pair, the only thing that has showed some actual effect is ice bath.

Other then that, do more low intensity training (zone 2). That will drastically improve recovery due to slow twitch muscle fibers helping transport lactate away in the muscle while riding/working out + a less overall load on the muscle.

For me, I went from not being able to ride sand 2 days in a row, to pretty much no restrictions.

Outside of nutrition and stretching/massage mentioned above, I love my PowerDot e-stim unit. I found out about it via the Tour de France last year, as well as AC and Ping and the Whiskey Throttle Show.

It really does work, and I’ve used it more than anything after cycling, moto, or just aches/pains from traveling for work.

Astroturfing works well.

Thanks in advance!

Another vote for a low intensity cardio session - it may seem a bit counterintuitive especially if you're already beat down tired but after getting all my stuff put away after riding I try to squeeze in a quick ride if I can and i not only get the physical benefit of recovering quicker but also a mental feel good knowing I pushed through my tiredness and burned a few extra calories to boot.

I like using PowerDot on my legs on the way home from riding. It works great before riding as well. The best part is that you can put them on and go about your day for the next hour, watch TV, work on the computer.

Great for forearms also

If available, I get into a pool & do low intensity laps. Couple beers and some chips & salsa work good too....

This actually works with less water and no BCAAs. YMMV
