Maybe they should haul the great sandy loam from Freestone up there,.........or move the race to Freestone

Watch some 80s and 90s Unadilla vs the hard, rock fest it is now. Keeping a track's integrity over the years with constant heavy equipment working it and erosion, etc is nearly impossible.

What the poster mentions is all the racing through the years that have been ran on Muddy Creek.
Versus, hardly any racing on the Unadilla track. Matter of fact, Unadilla has probably less racing on it in the last 30 plus years of any National track.
Maybe some erosion, but Muddy Creek is a whore, and Unadilla is a virgin, when compared.

What! Is this sarcasm,
Unadilla used to be a rock garden, it pails in comparison now. They cleaned up a lot of the rocks and brought massive amounts of soft material. Almost to the point where it becomes just long continuous ruts around the track.

Agree with this point. The Unadilla National track is seldomly used anymore, for sure.

I just think it is night and day from the 80's. Haven't ridden the national track there since 2010 LL regional, but compared to other places I've ridden and raced, the place was rocky, there were plenty of ruts, but only because they dug it so deep. Then it dries out and gets pretty damn hard and slick. Just my take, guys. If you've grown up riding that, maybe Unadilla is better to you? Not flaming the Dilla' here.

Yep you got the victory sports races (mega series, ultra series, all of them) then you have regionals and areas and then the national. It's time for new dirt

Unadilla has always been rocky but I raced it several times in the 90s and it was so fun.

Just got back from there bro. Dirt looked good. Deep and black. A huge upgrade from a few years ago. It was 6-10" deep in spots and formed a lot of ruts, a handful of lines, and some decent braking bumps.
You may not have seen it on tv because they groomed it quite a bit between practices and motos.

I give it 2 thumbs up. Much improved over years past.

Please don't let this first hand recollection get in the way of shitting all over something via your keyboard.

everyone knows you have to rotate crops or the soil gets burnt out.

I thought it looked decent from watching it on tv. Could be wider in some areas but other than that it looked fine.

Track looked great.

It might not be what it "used" to be, or what Red Bud is, but I think it's good having a track that varies in condition, was good watching them pick lines and move around, struggling with traction etc...

Track was premo early, muddy, ruts track wide.

Then, they worked it to much, lap times went down a bunch .

2 guys knew the lines that i used in the sections that have always been,Webb and Zach.

And i get why they work it .

The soil loses the nutrients when you grow the same crops over and over. That is why you rotate crops. So what you're saying makes no sense to why they need new dirt. I didn't see them trying to grow any corn out there this year.
