If your country or rider doesn't win will it be because of the mud ? Will the winners get an asterisk because of the mud ? With the best of both AMA and GP the best case scenario is a dry track and no what ifs afterwards.

Gp riders are used to those conditions. As long as it's not extreme, business as usual for them. No excuses possible.

The only kind of person that would give them one would be the kind of person that would ask if one is warranted

in case you haven't heard, it is the great equaliser and everybody that is there has a chance. The best win on any given day.

vomiting equals disqualification.

The US team in '87 at Unadilla should have an asterisk follow this ridiculous logic/reasoning.

Everyone is riding the same conditions. No asterisk. If anything eli barcia and aaron should be in a better position. Theyre all great in the mud

It's not quite the best of the AMA and MXGP, not without Gajser, Febvre and Musquin (and I'm not sure about Cairoli's injury status). But let's all hope for decent weather anyway.

This.

I may not enjoy the mud races as much as a dry fast race, it really is the best chance for an equal race.

There's no such thing as an asterisk in racing. In order to win whether it's a race or championship you need to line up. If you can't show up because of injury or you can't finish the race because of a mechanical, well, that's just how it goes. It's part of the sport. You can't control the weather. It's the same for everyone.

This isn't any ol' race, so it's not that simple. Throw in these ...

• Your nation is small, and your federation couldn't afford to send your team, even if you're a two-time world champion.

• Your nation is large and wealthy, but your federation is corrupt and left you off the team, even though you're among the top half-dozen riders in the world.

These guys didn't have a choice.

The only asterisk is for morons thinking FMOTP can be decided at this single event..
