Last year I purchased a new Honda 450 and completely loved all of it’s characteristics. It had spring forks, e-start and FI, what’s not to love, right? Unfortunately, my 80% rule was violated on a double double at Fox raceway. I OJ’ed the first one bad enough for me to think I was breaking my arms when I faced the next double. It was a bad feeling in the air. Luckily, I stayed relaxed enough that the outcome was just a major body compression on the bike. The rest of my ride day was shitty and I loaded up angry because that shouldn’t of happened.
I sat with all the thoughts for a couple weeks and determined a new 450 was just too much for a part-tire guy (retired pro or not). I post the bike for sale on Vital and sold it.
Well, yesterday I found what I think will be the cure for any more OJ’s that scare the hell out of me.
This rig was online for 17min before I sealed the deal! Fate? I think so... I’ve been looking for this bike. Photo

Great bike man.
I just got a 19 SX 250 after 2 years of kxf250.
Only rode it 3 times, 3,5 hours, but i freaking love it.
Fast, funny, and very light.
Loving it.
If jetted correctly this bike is a beast.
Mine is completely stock, except for Pirelli Mid Softs tires.

Sounds like you thought it through, and this shit really is all mental.
Good luck with new ride

Nice bike. As I have mentioned on here a few times, I go back and forth about selling my 350 and getting a 250 2stroke to compliment my YZ125. A case can be made for either side, but it all comes down to the individual. If you are like me, you have this back and forth conversation in your head all of the time lol. But you made the move and hopefully it works out for you.

Conversely, when I got my 150SX and parked my 450....I kept over-jumping stuff because I was wringing the 150 out of fear of coming up short. dizzy

I joined the 2-smoker club for 2021 as well after being on 4-strokes since 08. Can’t wait. Nice whip!

Yep, my 150 is scarier than any 450 I've ridden.

I went your route in 2017 with a new TC250. After the newness wore off I found myself not enjoying how much harder I had to ride the 2-stroke to go the same speed. Not enough conditioning for a part-timer like me to ride it like it was 1997 again. At 15hrsI swapped it for a Honda 450 and wasn't sad to see the smoker go.

Your results may vary... Enjoy!

Good choice, I have an 18 and it’s a great bike. If I had to downsize my fleet to 1 bike, this would be the bike, it can do it all...and has been bulletproof so far. 75hrs, no issues at all.

Congrats on the new bike. I made the jump from 450 to 250 smoker back in 18 and while I’ve gone back to 4 stroke for 21, (350) there’s no doubt in my mind the two stroke will make you a better rider.

Have fun with it. I found a 250f was a great balance between fun, ease of speed and maintenance.

Booyeah. Welcome to the party. Let me know if you ever want to hit Cahuilla on a Wednesday. We have a nice (adults) crew that heads out most Wednesdays and the 2-strokes are multiplying...

I switched to 250 2st full time back in 2012 and haven't looked back. Had a 2013 250SX and now a 2017 worked TC250. I get to ride 4st still pretty often (250f, 450f, etc) and yeah... no thanks. The 250 2st is so insanely fun and they really aren't hard to ride. Power is smooth, bike is light, and smiles are huge.

I’ve been on two strokes my whole life but spin laps on my friends 250s and 450s. There’s time where it would be nice to have one of each in the stable, but I feel like I would still load the two stroke up in the truck 9 out of 10 times. The ease of maintenance and the cost to maintain keeps me mixing gas. I only have a 125 and 150 right now, but a 250SX will be in my garage in a year or two.

Unleaded tastes a little tangy. Supreme is kinda sour, and diesel tastes pretty good.

I have plenty of 2 stroke muscle memory and my fitness is solid, we'll bond like peanut butter and jelly. Doing my own top ends again is a bonus too. Enjoy your 450 to it's fullest, see you at the 1/2 way flags....

🤣 no i also doesn‘t need more Power but the 300cc was installet from previous owner
it’s incredible easy to ride the 300cc broadens the Powerband , according to MXA it’s about 4-5 HP more than the 250SX
