Italy team basically picks itself.

I think Belgium have made a mistake not putting JvH on the 250 and picking Desalle and Strijbos. Lieber is very up and down, Strijbos is dependable, you know he's going to give you solid results. If Desalle had raced last year with JvH and Strijbos they would've won. I'm surprised that they strayed from that team

This.

Strijbos gives you 2 top 10s and JVH can fly on that 250. Would've battled for the win with France. Now: not so sure.

I don't know about Strijbos he hasn't had much bike time this year and his results haven't really proven worthy to be in the team. Lieber if on two wheels is frickin quick. The chosen team is defiantly capable of winning.

Agree with this, but it wouldn't been fair to Lieber to be set aside for Strijbos who has shown nothing so far this season. We'll see.

I can see that side of it, and to be fair to Lieber, he stepped up today and put in two great rides to get a podium. I still don't think it's a bad team even with Lieber in it, he has been in the podium twice at this event, and if Desalle and JvH perform to their potential, they will only need 1 good ride from him, which he is capable of.

I do think experience counts at this event though, Strijbos has raced it and performed on numerous occasions, if you look at it from the stand point of just picking your best riders then I think you have to pick Strijbos over Lieber, but as you said, Lieber probably deserves it more

I just think JvH is less of an upgrade over Lieber on the small bike than Strijbos is a downgrade from JvH on the big bikes. If everyone rides to their current form, which you have to assume when picking the team, I think Belgium has a better shot with Lieber riding and Strijbos at home.

I think Belgium is just as strong if not stronger than France, personally.

Depends what JVH you get.

Normally Desalle and Van Horebeek are solid, it will depend more of what Lieber will do. Race with his heart I guess, as usual Wink

Covington will beat whoever will be picked as the MX2 rider for team USA. That will be interesting.

Lieber has been pretty good this year in my eyes.

3rd fastest behind Jonas and Seewer.

Jonas is the only mx2 guy I think who can run with osborne.

We will see!

I don't know a lot about Kirk Gibbs but this team could land on the podium with a little bit of luck
