See so many awesome rebuilds out there. Those are the lucky few, this is for everyone else.
Sometime around October I decided my bike just wasn't pulling like it should, wouldn't come out of corners refused to leave the start in 2nd gear. So rebuild time
Step 1. Clean
Step 2. Disassemble
Step 3. Clean some more
Step 4. New grips

Step 6. Febuary 20-ish
Tax returns time-rebuild time. I was told that the bike had be over bored by the previous owner, wasn't sure what we were going to do about the piston. And was worried what condition the cylinder would be in. So we pulled it apart and measured it. Everything is stock sized and ok.
Step 7. Ordered new top end kit and some silencer packing. Wanted to order restyled front fender and number plate to add some freshness to this rebuild but got slapped by my wallet. Should be here in a few days.
(Oh and durring this process my forks started leaking) yay more expenses!!!
BTW I don't know how Yamaha is with their oem parts, but Suzuki makes you want to go to Japan and throw every damn person working in sales out the window! It's ridiculous what they want for their stuff!
The Shop
Recently took my carb off and cleaned it out, then my buddy suggested taking a look at the reeds...
Before I did I asked him how much they would cost to replace if they were messed up, cringed, and proceeded to hesitantly peek through them. The tension was unbelievable.
Motosport delivered today. Calendar and sticker sheet free extras. Not or but more than I've gotten from others
But why didn't you keep riding her while you saved up cash? Seems you jumped the gun on the tear down.
Got the engine back together today, fresh trans oil, fresh coolant, new spark plug.
Need to get the air filter cleaned, silencer re packed, grips, fresh gas, and get new pipe springs because one broke trying to get it back on. While I'm at it I think I will get some fresh brake fluid too.
I pulled the fork guard guards off so I could clean out the seals. They have leaked out so much. If it was just some dirt then I'm going to have to get new oil because it's lost so much the forks are easy to compress. If they continue to leak it will probably be another month before I can get back to riding.
No one ever said motocross was cheap, just a 125 is the cheapest bike to get. My 125 runs on the smell of an oily rag, always plenty of fun to ride and has enough power to get the front wheel up. I only weigh 60-65kg so the wheel is mostly spinning. My 450 costs way more and gets used a lot less. Also is like a bucking bull.
