Finally...finally...we are racing again. Those two weeks off were torture to say the least.
Well the early outlook for this weekends race at Red Bud is looking like...HOT and HUMID. So much for those gifts in the previous weeks of cooler than normal weather. It's time for some weather payback.
Friday is looking just plain hot with highs in the mid to upper 90s.
Saturday is looking hot with highs in the low 90s.
To make matters worse the dew point should be near 70 which will basically make it feel nice and steamy.
As far as rain goes there is about a 20% to 30% chance of an afternoon thunderstorm each day. You know the kind that pop up in the afternoon heat of the day. Not a big threat though.
Stay tuned for more updates each day.

Not changes necessary at this time. Looks to be HOT and HUMID so be prepared.
One thing I am watching is the potential for a cool front to come into play on Saturday. Right now it looks like it will be too slow to arrive to provide any rain or cooler temps for Saturday but this will need to be monitored in the coming days should the front end up coming in sooner.
I've seen chest protectors and neck braces dropped in favor of cooling, which IMO can't be a good choice.

Looks like this race will likely be the hottest of the year. Temps on Friday will push 100 and it will be very humid. Saturday will be slightly cooler with mid 90s likely and continued humid. Rain chances are only about 30% on Saturday so we will have to at least keep an eye to the sky for a potential pop up afternoon storm.
The Shop
Well the hottest race of the year is upon us. Not only do we have to deal with the heat but the humidity will be in full force also.
Temps today will be near 100 with a dewpoint near 70 which will make it feel very humid with heat indexes above 105.
For Saturday I am going to decrease the rain chance to 20% and increase the temperature a bit. Expect highs on Saturday to be in the upper 90s with continued humid conditions. This is going to be what Freestone usually is.
Drink, drink, drink...and try to stay cool.
I did also see a large cooling tent for the fans that had been installed by vendor row. They can make a temporary escape from the heat in there.
Backpack full of alcohol and water. Just buzzed my head.
Bring this pussy 90's shit. You don't stand a chance.
Now for the riders... lol.. Not so simple.
