Moto van question

Hey folks. Looking at getting a new Chevy express cargo van with the regular wheelbase, with the new duramax in it (2.8 liter).

I want to pit a second row seat in there, and still fit my 2017 KTM 350SXF in there.

Anyone do that? Busy with harvest and work and haven’t had time to measure to see if it would all fit ok.

Bike will not fit in straight, i have a setup somewhat like this and i have to turn my bars and put bike into a corner and it just fits.

I have a regular express with a bench behind the front seats and the bikes fit straight. Its a passenger van so the seat is a little farther forward than conversion vans, but there is still plenty of legroom. Bikes fit with an inch to spare. perfect set up.

Cool. Just bought a new 2018 Express regular wheelbase with the little 2.8 Duramax in it.

Do you have to drop the bars to get the bike in the back doors or can you just wiggle ‘er in there?

after having owned an extended gmc 3500 I would not want anything smaller ...I dont see how these small vans with low roofs would work very good. If I did it again I would probably look for a used high top sprinter...take your time looking at and thinking about it before you pull the trigger...

This is a regular wheel base ford e250. I can fit a bike straight, but I turn the bars because it takes up way less space.

My opinion......the extended vans are the way to go. Once you get used to that extra 2.5' in the rear , it really feels cramped in a standard van. Besides , if you ever want to put in a sleeper bed , you'll need that extra room. Just for reference , in my 99' extended Chevy express , I have 11'-9" from the cage wall to the doors. Lots of room in there , and plenty for 3 bikes with all the gear , gas , and whatever else.

I have the extended version, but it rolls right in and they are the same rear doors.

I regret not buying an extended van...mine works just fine, but you’re right, the extra 2.5 feet really makes a big difference

I have a regular van. My bike fits straight in. It’s a tight fit. Would go extended if you can shake it. One goes straight in. I cock the wheel wheel into the corner for 2 bikes. And can back a third in the middle. It works. But like others have said extended would be real nice. My bed still rolls out completely. I just have to put my seats all the way forward. You can make it work just fine.

















It will fit. Measure your bike with your wheelbase completely extended. Pull the chain off. Pull the wheel as far back as possible. With the regular seriously inches are MILES! MEasure 3 times! But you get it right it will be perfect!
