Every time I see a video from Danny Hart, I think of his run from 2011 where the announcer yells "How does he sit down with balls that big!" Laughing

Red Bull did a race between yesterday's elite race winner, former World Champion Gee Atherton against Enduro legend David Knight on his 535cc KTM down this same course!
Guess who won?

Those Atherton guys (and girl) are nuts. The Atherton project was pretty cool but they needed to include WAY more bike riding and less talking.

Good stuff. Can't understand how the World Cup guys go through the rock gardens so fast. But they do.

Rob- watching the vid I was thinking there are precious few people who could go that fast on that course even on a moto. Knighter is likely one of them, but given the tight nature of alot of the turns, I'm guessing the bicycle won the head-to-head.

Reveal?

I'd like to know how many runs he has down that course to have his lines so dialed!
That was awesome to watch.
Thanks

Sick vid.

Old Mt.Snow VT national course had scary fast sections on open ski slope, really wide so you could take many lines. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared in certain sections every run!

Holy crap!

Does he just have really quiet calipers/brake pads or did he never touch the brakes?

No that was the track marshalls signaling that the rider had just passed their spot and was up and running.
If you notice it happens every time he goes by one of those guys in the safety vest.

Ah, good to know. I've watched tons of downhill vids and never understood why they did that. Now I know.

I was on board with the whole thing until I remembered I don't have a sponsor to give me free replacements for destroyed bikes and wheels.

My bike would have given up the ghost half way down. It looks fun! I want to go! (will need a downhill bike).

Sorry for delay in replying , been away, but yes Gee Atherton won the race with Knighter. Check out Youtube, may still be up on there.

One sobering thought is Danny Hart (the rider) for the past couple years has been an also-ran. So there are more than a few guys that are going this fast or more. On the other hand when Danny is on (the world champs, 3 years back) he is incredible. This if the video ML512 was referring to.
