This is a tough question to answer fairly, to me it comes down to JS and The Dogger. I have to give the edge to Dogger because what I seen him do on a kx500, he could ride those bikes like there was nothing to it.

But, to answer the question of could a modern rider stay out all night like Lechien and still win, yes. I wont say the riders name, but in 2010 he met three girls in the hotel bar and at 7 in the morning when we were going to the track he was in the hotel sauna with them, naked with a bunch of champagne bottles around them. He was there on time and won that day.
Possible riders from the 2010 story in each class.

250:
Tomac
Pourcel
Rattray
Wilson
Canard

450:
Reed
Dungey
Windham

Jeez, I don't know who the rider in question was but after looking at who won in either class anywhere in 2010 I have my guess but all these riders don't strike me as super party oriented...

Most talented riders I've ever seen are Bubba, Everts and Travis. Current most talented in the US is probably either CP or Kenny.

1 name thats been skipped. Jeff Ward. The only rider that successfully transitioned from the 70s style and tracks through to the 90s style and tracks. He was a legend on 80s. Champ on a 125,250, 500s, and sx. Came back well after retirement and won supermoto titles , beating guys like Henry, TP , Caselli.
