Seriously, if you were bench racing with your buddies yesterday which would be a more bs statement? Milsaps will make a last lap pass to win A1 or Villopoto will finish 16th?

Villopoto looked like he was going shred everyone in his heat race.

I'm totally stoked that Davey won. I don't know who I was puling for more .....Canard or Milsaps. Awsome race!

I find it funny that a guy at my local track today told me that millsapps will never be a top contender no matter what he does. Looks like he was wrong. And I was litterally jumping up and down when Millsapps made that last lap pass. It was absolutely amazing.

A1, a visit to the Twilight Zone. Saw Millsaps at the TO pit party, seemed like a good dude. Happy for him AND Canard.

For me it was Milsaps winning the race, esp once Trey had passed him. RV1 was pushing to hard to make up for the bad start. Plus we watched him crash at the MEC with no pressure.

I was in shock by the time Millsaps made the pass, open mouth and all!

I'm only shocked that Millsaps hasn't won more races. He's always had the speed and talent.

Milsaps for me. We have seen RV have that one race here and there throughout his career (although very rare) where he hits the dirt a few times. Seems that if he does it once it happens a few times.

Milsaps winning is not a huge shock to me but how he did it was.

Villo getting 16th is more shocking to me, Milsaps has shown flashes in the past, and he was second in the points last year!

Millsaps was bigtime on my radar, after seeing that he was back on zooks and he looked as fit as anyone, its gotta be RV finishing 16th... Would've loved nothing more than to see TC take that win, but the next two guys in line for me were Hill and Saps, those three dudes have come a looooong way.. Its been said many times over that Davi has as much talent and potential as anyone on the track, but I'd say with his size and strength & crazy bike skills he's actually at an advantage over everyone else when he "got it together" as he did tonight.. Hell the dude isn't even on factory equipment, is he??!!

That's what we all said a few years ago.

Anyhoo, who cares, who knows, great start to a last ditch year for him? This revitalised his carear in one last effort and blew of Carnard in a shock pass.

Go Davey..............

I noticed he was smaller, he was pretty skinny as a kid riding at the Monster Mountain. Still kind of stunned, not sure what to do now. To hyped up to sleep. lol

I'm no RV2 fan, but this is an anomaly. I would love to see parity in this sport, but everything will even out, just like always. Some Kawi, Monster Energy team will win the championship, and everyone will live Happily ever after. Haha.

I literally said, "We'll it's over now that Canard passed Millsaps" because I thought he'd give up. When he came back I was jumping up down and must say my chest surgery didn't like that much.

RV, like Stewart seems to be checkers or crash lately so not as surprised.

He went out and won his heat race, then went out and won the race. Not sure why you'd think he couldn't take at least one more.

Seriously, DM18 looks like he lost 30 lbs. He is in shape and is very fast. TC41.... was on it. For not racing for months after the back injury...... he has to be filling very good.

Not too surprising for Milsaps based on being third fastest in both practices and the two guys in front of him in those practices had sub par results. Vilipoto 16th shocking. Happy for FMF, Rockstar, Donny, and George getting a win in the first race of the year. FLYING MACHINE FACTORY FTW!!!!

Man, it looked like he was a bit disappointed he didn't get the W. Insane to see that in a mans eyes after all he's been through, but it leads me to believe that he'll win a couple this year simply because of his will.

If Trey was unhappy, he didn't show it. Afterward, he said it still felt like a win.

how many wins has millsaps had on a 450?
I think that was his 3rd? He won in San Fransisco when they had that weird little technical double after the finish (in the mud). And In San Diego if I'm not mistaken.

By no pressure you mean Dungey breathing down your neck?

Agreed. Trey's celebration after the finish clearly showed how significant the result was to him. This was a great opening race. Couldn't have been any happier for Trey and Davi.

I didn't see either of them coming.. I mean, RV has always impressed me by how head strong he is, and last night the wheels came off, so that's really shocking to me. Davi winning.. It's A1, anything can happen at A1, and Davi is a former winner, so while it may be a bit shocking that he won last night, it's not as shocking as the head strong RV finishing 16th.

I'd have to say more shocking was RV1's 16th place finish.

Aside from a crash that takes you out, a multi champ that looked like an alien during the heat race, has to salvage something better for the final points.

With Stewart tweaked and RV rattled, the rest of the sharks smell opportunity and feel confidence, the least of which is Davi. Old enough to know how to do this and healthy enough to make it happen. That last lap pass says volumes...very deep class this year, should be a lot of fun to watch.

Wow that's unbelievable. Just goes to show that when you do the work you reap the rewards.

I remember Ricky once saying when he raced, that a lot of his competitors think they train hard but in reality they don't. I must admit I thought Davi a good rider, a top 5 guy in a full field of the biggest names (occasionally top 3) but no more than that. I'm glad to see how mistaken I was. He didn't luck into anything last night - it was a hard long battle and he earned it.
