As much as I liked seeing Barcia get " Bam Bammed ".... I dont think that was Malcolms intent....albeit close, it looks like they both hopped over the rut and came together, more so than malcolm delibritly taking Barcia out....coming down the hill, Malcolm seems to have thew inside, so not sure what Barcia was going to do had they not come together.....I dunno... Barcial has tried to run dudes off the track, take them out, and succeeded on many occasions.....so its a give and take world.

I was right there. Barcia came to his knees and yelled HAY!

just watched it again pausing and playing between 4 and 5 second mark. looks like bam bam was leaning hard on mookie either fighting for the line or trying to bam bam him to the inside.

I'll bet that was the straw that broke the camels back for JB. Watch out Mookie.

when did he "cry"? would you be happy to be cleaned out, whether intentional or not? do you even race, bro?

I don't think Mookie intended to take him out like that. He was off balance after hoping the rut. Looks like both were ok with some contact, and neither was letting off.

Maybe it was a rut. I wonder if they were having some bar banging before the corner.

Deliberate take-out move. If Mookie was executing a pass, his eyes would have been up and towards the apex of the turn (the most basic of cornering techniques). But his gaze isn't even in the direction of the turn; it's down and focused on Barcia's front wheel. He's not even attempting to track the bike through the corner.

If that was not intentional, then we're assuming Mookie forgot everything he knows about cornering during those few seconds.

theres a lot of truth to this. he was basically trying to make it impossible for barcia to skirt the outside....I don't think mookie intended to hop the rut and park him off the track tho, that part was probably an accident. truth to above poster tho, mookie was staring at barcias front fender a couple times during the turn.

If Barcia is that close to you anywhere on the track, you're sure going to looking at him, and thinking real fast about how not let him make you crash and burn. It's just one of those racing situations that happens.

Question is why Mookie from 20-something place after first lap caught and passed Barcia who was top10 after first lap?

Just an observation, not straw or hay related. When Mookie went around Barcia the first time, he had caught and passed him going around the outside of the sand section after the finish line. Then, in classic old school tradition gave him the "look back" as they were flying over the brontosaurus back thing, which seemed to light a fire under Mr. Barcia's ass. The next corner Justin was on the gas and was all over Mookie headed up the jump to the starting area, where they dropped out of my sight.

I watched intently when they came back in to view, and only one did, the number 32. When they showed the replay on the jumbotron my question was answered, not sure what happened between where they dropped off the starting area and where Barcia got planted, but I'll bet it was pretty intense.

Barcia is one of my favorite riders. You have to love District 34. Mookie's pass was aggressive and just the way someone who is battling to get recognition in the premier 450f class should make. On the east coast that's just an excellent pass. I only have one problem with this situation and it has nothing to do with the riders. There should never be cables placed in any areas at the end of high speed sweepers. It could have ended with an extremely serious injury.

What's up with the cables? I've saw in both Mookie threads that they are dangerous, and I agree. But the cable in the clip above is different. It clearly has a blue foam swimming noodle zip-tied around it. Safety first people. Whistling

So, Mookie has the inside line and while coming down a hill naturally drifts to the outside. Barcia isn't backing off, so he slows down and drifts, sparing Barcia from being seriously Bam-Bammed off the track. It looks like it would have been way easier on Mookie to punt him at the bottom of the turn and not lose much momentum.

I didn't see any aggression.
Barcia took a gamble in staying in it when he was on the outside, and this time around he lost the bet.

Why is it I immediately assume this is payback and not the first blow? What did BamBam do to deserve this? The look back is priceless.

After wAtching it again you can see the rut he comes out of and gets off balance going into Barcia. Just sayin.

I see it. At 6 seconds, the pass is made. Barcia leaned in on Mookie's leg and pulled them both off to the right.

I was just about to say that. You can see his front tire pop out of the rut and immediately he is off balance as is evidenced by the fact that he is sitting bolt upright with his left leg stuck up and out.

I wish I hadn't watched it so many times, I liked thinking it was payback for something. (-:

I dunno, after watching it 1000x, I see mookie looking down at barcias front fender a few times, but it seems like he could e gone to the inside some. He took him so wide that he took himself off the track just to make sure barcia didn't get around him. And the look back, was that a is he still alive look back or one of those F you look backs..
