For those going this weekend...

On your marks, get set, go!
Supercross Montréal presented by Honda in collaboration with Vidéotron revs up for action

Montreal, Wednesday, September 12, 2018 – The stage is set for Supercross Montréal presented by Honda in collaboration with Vidéotron and all the riders are raring to go to make this a event for motorsport fans to remember. All day this Saturday, September 15, elite motocross athletes from Canada, the United States, Europe and some of the top riders on the amateur provincial circuit are going to be revving their engines and putting on a show for the thousands of spectators expected to turn out for the grand return of motocross racing to Montreal’s Olympic Stadium, special edition in the Rockstar Energy Triple Crown series.

“It's been months in the works, and now this spectacular show is ready to roll,” said Chantal Lachance, Vice-President of Marketing and Production for event producer Gestev. “With the caliber of athletes we have lined up and raring to go, the level of racing here at the Olympic Stadium will be completely unprecedented and spectators can look forward to plenty of thrills and spills!”

High-octane high jinks
From 12 noon through to 4:45 p.m, the riders will be taking the course by storm for the free practice sessions and qualifiers. Then from 6 to 7 p.m. in the West Hall, motocross fans will have the chance to meet 10 star riders at an autograph signing session. After the opening ceremonies at 7:30 p.m., it’ll be time for spectators to feast their eyes on cream of the crop of international 450 SX athletes in action, including Malcolm Stewart (USA), Alex Martin (USA), RJ Hampshire (USA) and Cédric Soubeyras (France). And once the racing begins, the crowd will be cheering for all the Canadian riders in the lineup too, with Ontario’s Cole Thompson and British Columbia’s Colton Facciotti just for starters, not to mention the locals’ favourite, Kaven Benoît, who’s sure to bring his own fan club along with him!

In the 250 SX class, Dave Blanchet, Samuel Lavoie, Nicolas Lavallée and a handful of other Quebec hotshots will get the chance to see how they measure up to some of Canada’s top riders including Jess Pettis (Ontario) and Shawn Maffenbeier (Saskatchewan) as well as big American names the likes of Logan Karnow and Chad Saultz.

A stellar amateur lineup of men and women
All summer long, amateur riders have been battling it out for their chance to qualify for the prestigious Supercross Montréal event. In the men’s MX2 racing, twenty riders mostly from Quebec have earned their place at the start line. In the women’s lineup, ten athletes from Quebec and Ontario will be tackling this challenging course. What a fantastic opportunity for all these amateur athletes!

In addition to the evening’s racing, spectators will be on the edge of their seats watching some of the hottest freestyle talent in action—including world champion Mat Rebeaud who will be riding an Alta electric bike and Canadian Kyle Demelo—as world-famous freestyle motocross icon Ben Milot brings his signature Milot Land Show to town.

Are all of those riders confirmed to be racing? I'd be surprised to see Hansen actually race. Also Epstein isn't on the list for some reason?
