I bought the pre-release so I’ve been playing it for a couple days now.. I like it better than 3 for sure! Have to time the rhythm sections or you lose a lot of time. Not just a game you pick up and dial in the first day.
Only complaint so far is.. WHY IS THERE NO TECH 10’s?? Maybe you unlock them as you rank up but idk how they left them out..

I put a couple hours in so far and I’m loving it. Not a re skin at all, they brought the training back which I like and tweaked it to where you can spend skill points that you earn in races and training sessions

you can get injuries which I’ve wanted in moto games for a long time to add a bit more realistic aspect to it

Credits are easier to earn so you can get your gear and parts quicker

The physics do feel a little stiff but like mesx2 it gets much better as you level up, not really liking that you have to do the training to flow better

Boot and goggle selection is pretty weak, no white Astars? Wtf is that bullsheitt?

I’m playing on A 2nd gen 500gb Xbox one and haven’t had any frame rate issues at all

I give it a 9/10

Mxgp19, 20 And MESX2 is a dumpster fire, but I think this one is pretty badass

I’m kind of out of the game. Loved reflex and mxgp 2. Have the games gotten a lot better since then?

I wouldn’t say a lot better but definitely a little better and more refined compared to MXGP2, brake sliding And the whips are more controllable, you can actually do turn downs now

Nothing will ever beat reflex on consoles though

You can probably pick up the first MESX for Super cheap right Now if you don’t want to gamble 60 bucks, Mx vs atv all out wouldn’t be a bad choice either

***edit mxgp 19 and 20 is ass, stick to the SX games or mxgp3 if you go with a milestone game***

MXGP 3 was the last good outdoor game for this company. They had working ruts and the physics were pretty good.

Steam is still saying it will be available March 11th. I was hoping it would unlock at 9pm PST but no dice.

I've been playing it this morning on the xbox one x and definitely a big improvement. To me they've improved the handling and graphics. The bike feels like it has more weight to it over jumps. Just feels more realistic. I know the career mode will be super frustrating with the shitty bikes at first so I've just been enjoying checking out the new tracks on time trial mode with Webb's 450.

Huge bummer alert, PS4 and PS5 players can’t play online in the same lobby. I get you can’t crossplay between Xbox and PS, but come on.

Between that and with them dropping the ball on the ps5 release, not cracking down on scalpers and not having the supply for the demand, it's tough being a playstation guy these days.

The bring back reflex movement is the gaming equivalent of bring back two strokes.

Or just backwards in general....I still play Mx unleashed from time to time and it’s apples to oranges At this point, so much nostalgia and the old games still are definetly fun though.

Won the first race of my career.. and low and behold you can suffer in game injuries... this is a new front for a supercross video game lol. I must say I'm enjoying this and glad they unlocked the physics more so than mx2020...so I'm a happy camper

I'm on a (xbox series s)

Name a better motocross video game that you can buy from a store and put in a console. You can’t. To this day that game is light years ahead of all the MESX and MXGP’s. Buuuuuut we just keep getting shitty games and they keep pumping out copy’s every year and everyone buys them hoping for changes. Just keep getting the same terrible game year after year.

You obviously haven't played. Just got MES4 last night and it's definitely an improvement on MES3. The terrain feels like it effects you more (especially sand) and you lose quite a bit of time if you mess up a rhythm section. I've only raced 2 races and I already like it more.

Ok I'm level 33 already.. played about 4 hours last night.. and I'm already back on it at 10am on a Friday ( I love working from home hahaha).. anyway, this game you can finally hit different rhythm timings and are not forced to their line of choice.. the bike still does slide a bit too much into the corner and it still has its wonky physics at time... but it plays a hell of alot better than the last one.. also their is terrain deformations, however it does not effect the track as much as it could.. but then again I only run (short races) qualifying and main event.. 5 mins lol.. id say people on the fence should pick this one up.. it gives me hope for the future games. Also the contracts you sign to teams are cool, they expire mid season which is dumb.. but it allows you to race different brands mid seaso.... back to the training stuff, pretty fun challenging mini games to make your rider better.

I feel like this supercross game they finally added substance. (Aka more stuff that makes a difference).

I'll be giving online a shot in a bit.

I got past futures pretty quick. I did as much training as I could and signed with club mx for the 250s. Even on the stock AI setting I cant seem to get better then 10th haha, and I was really good at 2 and 3.

The good so far...

The bike is finally slower and harder to ride cleanly so you are forced to be smart and calculative.
You can't skip across the peaks of jumps through entire rhythm section any more.
The Tuff blocks are way more forgiving and realistic.
First turn chaos has been brought down to a realistic level.
Game lodes noticeably faster
Riffling through the object menu in the editor is better and easier.

The bad so far...

First impression is that it is visually bland compared to #3.
Rider movement is more jerky, stiffer and less realistic.
Bike sounds like a 230L. Can we just get a realistic deep 450 sound?
The tracks look like crap. Real SX tracks are super clean and chiseled looking.
The stadium sizes in the editor fail. The small ones don't allow for a typical 7 lane SX track so they are unusable for replica tracks. The larger ones are fine, But why make the larger outdoor one 1/2 the size as the last one? And how about an infield template for Daytona and the new upcoming Atlanta rounds? After all isn't this THE OFFICIAL SX GAME?
Minimal (and I mean only a few) new objects in the editor.
Can't reverse a bunch of those.
Still has that lame 30 foot flat unbuild-able area in front of the start.
Object menu on the bottom blocks your work area when creating tracks.
Shouldn't ET3 be the rider in the editor since he won last year? LoL.

Summary so far...

Is this game worth $80 dollars? No. Why? Cause it is not an all new and improved edition over #3. It has the visual appearance of a game from the 90's. The rider is goofy and unrealistic. So they went backward here. It is worth $39.95.

The only good thing about this new game is that this rider is the closest to being realistic in terms of speed and ability. Smooth smart racing pays off with good results and a more real "feel" of being accurate on a SX bike in terms of timing, throttle, brake, steering & line choice. I actually like this part very much.

But the rest of the game is visually ugly. Graphics, menus etc. The editor is super limited.

I am always glad that some one will make a SX game. But this is Milestone's 4 try. For their latest attempt I say I am disappointed. It's almost funny. They got us! $80.00 for this game. LoL.

But, I'll still probably play it every day and obsess with making reps.

This weekends track is up search SPX to race it. XBOX ONE

Reviews here and elsewhere are not compelling me to purchase. Haven't touched the series since the first one and I was hoping there was significant improvement 3 games later. Guess it isn't in the cards.

Maybe the MX vs ATV guys got something in the works.
