Missing Mike...

I doubt he ever wanted to race SX. That kid was an outdoor specialist. No way he's sitting around with his family thinking about ever lining up to race supercross.

I hope Mike retires. I don't mean that in a disrespectful way, but there's nothing to accomplish that he hasn't achieved yet. At this point in his career he's never racing the AMA nationals again and there's nothing really for him to gain racing the Canadian nationals. I'm on the same boat with Alessi as I am with Bubba. I hope he stays away from these message boards and just enjoys his family in peace without the backlash the community gives him.

I miss the days where Mike was a threat coming into nationals, specifically when he was on Suzuki and KTM. It's a bummer he never won a title, there's no denying he had the speed, talent, and work ethic to do so.

I wish I had a mx career like mikes, hes a good man.

Those Alessi boys were some fan friendly racers. A few wacky antics along the way, but no doubt they were good kids.

He also has a family now and there's no reason to put that at risk considering the amount of head injuries he had in his career. CTE is no joke and along with a lot of top riders with multiple concussions I hope it doesnt come back to haunt him later down the road. I just want the best for Mike and his family, at the end of the day dirt bikes are just an adrenaline rush and not worth losing everything over, despite what a lot of hot-headed vet riders think.

Mike is a great racer, I'm glad he is spending some time up here in Canada racing our series.

I always wished he would have just went to the GP's because he would have been great there and fun to follow along in that series.

Absolutely.. I’d race anywhere given the chance and worthwhile financially. He’s only got a few years left to do it.

Only on Vital could an Alessi thread turn into a Devin Davis thread. Now if we could just get Troy Lee's truck driver involved...

With that thinking all riders/ racers should stop doing what they love.Might get hurt you know.

Weird thing.....but I thought Mike made some really good improvement's his last year or two indoors. Thought he was really getting the hang of it and looked good. Bums me out not seeing him out there.

Don't agree with this. He's making money and doing what he loves ( still loves ) why quit if you can still enjoy it....and make a living? I honestly think some guy's hang it up to early , and regret it. I bet RC , RV and RD have had second thoughts.

Alessi wails. Awesome style.

Glad Mike is still racing and in a fun to watch series too.

And i think they are awsome, i always wondered if Mike ever thought about doing the GP series, and i wonder if he had offers to , i would think he would have had offers ,
And imo he could have been up front fighting for a world championship as well, at least i think he could have done good in that series.
I believe he did a few Gps just makes me wonder if he gave that any serious thought.

Mike absolutely loves moto. I remember a couple years ago his bike quit in a moto up here in Canada and instead of going to the pits he walked straight to the announcers booth, put a headset on and joined in on the conversation for the rest of the moto. Thought that was pretty cool.

He's done some announcing up here a few times. I think he did some booth work at the USGP as well.

Aways been a fan and I'm glad he's coming back racing next year.

He was trying to get a supercross ride but the team he wanted on didn't have the room.

Man - he was fast on the zook. It is fun watching him ride.

And where's all the pics of him racing??
