Riley: First ride blew everyone away. To be more fun to ride and faster than a Race prepped 2018.5 KTM450sxf Factory Edition was not expected. Julian has placed his order after riding it!

BRC has a good idea!

As far as pure value is concerned, four RMZs came in ahead of Mike, and with current factory rebate, are cheaper than a YZ, even before the big bore kit.

Never met Mike (seen him riding) and he doesn't know me, I am just an enthusiast for the ESR 325.

$1,100 Top End Rebuild makes ANY 4-Toker EXPENSIVE as hell!
$150 gets it done in my world.

Esr top end kit is 180.
Rmz top end kit is 300.

And you are already starting at over 1100 more expensive, so the first RMZ rebuild is free. I would be surprised if you own an RMZ through multiple top ends.

But the RMZ is a garbage bike? There's a reason they sell them so cheap. By the time a rebuild comes you'll need a new clutch and will have probably broken a few other things. While the yz will still be going strong. And you can buy yz parts on eBay for days since they have been making it for 18 years. The last time suzuki was successful was dungey and even the factory team couldn't keep them running.
And the best part you don't have to spend 6-7k on a showroom new bike to get "the latest and greatest" Alessi probably had a new bike but it didn't have to be new to do what he did.

The RMZ is garbage because it hasnt been updated in 10 years. But the YZ is good because it hasnt been updated in 13 years?

The yz is a good bike because it's reliable and proven the fact that it's still made and still sells is a testemant to that.

The rmz is a mixed bag bucket of bolts built by a declining brand with a dwindling budget and changing interest.

Both bikes are among the most reliable and proven of platforms on the market. Both are dated platforms that are perfectly fine for an average joe. They are both declining efforts by their respective manufacturers.

I think right now, with the deals available, if we are just talking TCO, the RMZ is cheaper.

BTW the last time an RMZ was successful was as recently as 2016, when it won 18 of 22 motos for the national championship. When was the last time a blue bike of any type did that, even a newer one?

Dang forgot about roczens short stay with them. Yamaha has won a championship nearly every year if you count 250 since 2015 supercross plus all those years jermey Martin, Cooper Webb, aaron plessinger outdoor titles. Last suzuki 250 champion was dungey 2009. And more relative to the average joe check the shootouts suzuki is low on the charts. And 2 stroke shootouts not even in the game.

The holeshot king has no chance of a holeshot on that bike against a factory 450 on vegas dirt. I would love to see it, but 10th would be about right for a guy who is the best in the world at starts.
Holeshot.........."I would love to see it"

You just did if you watched the video in the LCQ!

Not the toughest field but he beat Chad Reed to the first turn and to the end of the race. And yes Chad came back and did ok later in the night.

Give it a rest. Good show for Mike. Great exhibition race. The bike cannot compete against a gate full of factory 450’s.

Yeah it’s very odd... It’s nearly like necrophilia of motorcycles.

I have a YZ I’m doing a big bore kit on this winter. I absolutely won’t be doing it with this company because of this guys’ annoyance.
