If it's your first time fitting one I'd get some help and approx 6 long tyre levers and better still a stand that holds wheel firm. Michelin UK do a short 10min video on how to fit, check if it's available in USA. There is a knack, but enduro riders fit them in minutes as they have the right technique.

I prefer Michelin mouse to Pirelli's version, as they are a little bit softer. Make sure you use plenty of the lube supplied on mouse to stop friction between mouse & carcass of tyre. Note you can use petrolium or KY jelly too!
Also check your size and order right width profile for tyre you are fitting too.
After a few muddy races, best to take mouse out & let it grow back to original size.
Leave it in a cool shady place. If you nick it with levers when fitting & removing, duct tape works fine to repair small cuts.
Also check shelf life on mouse before buying as they have a limited lifespan, but with care you can stretch the 6 month life out to 12 months +, even longer.

The Shop

i just got back from our annual guys go ride in the mountains trip... used a Mousse for the first time. Dont see why I didnt try them for off road years ago!

Tips for mounting........

For the rear, goto your shop that has a mounting machine. BUT! do NOT let them just try to rotate the wheel and force the tire on!!!! Ask them if its ok if you help or tell them to do the following.... have 2 guys hold the bead DOWN for the last half of sliding the tire on! otherwise, you will ruin the bead on the rear tire! the front, its not as bad but the rear, lets just say I had to get a second one because I literally tore a 10 inch strip of the bead off mine!

I was concerned about seating the bead... was I wrong! it was almost impossible to keep it OFF! Have a friend or bead saver or 3 handy to hold it down. THe first bead its easy, slips right on, the final side... oh man!

Use silicone based spray lube HEAVILY on the bead also... go nuts with it. Lube it up like its a porn convention.. you CANT have too much lube in this case! Then once installed, wipe everything off, but do NOT spray cleaner to get it off, just wipe it down!

The Mousse lube... run it in a line inside the tire, then try to spread it all over the place on the sidewalls. Then put the mouse in the tire and, it sucks, but spin it inside the tire a few rotations to try to get a nice coating.

Adjust the rebound on the bike if needed.... these things weight alot!

If using in the rear, and it REALLY doesnt suck as much as you think, leave the rimlock IN. I did a ton of research, front no rim lock, rear, rim lock.

When going in a str8 line on smooth ground, the rear of the bike will "wander" a bit. Other than that, felt no difference, actually it felt a bit more supple in the rear.

Don't bother telling Dennis the tips for mounting the tire...he can barely change his oil, let alone get the mixture right for his smoker.

Ever tried tire balls? Much easier than bibs. Or if your going with the bibs go to a heavy truck tire store and get the lube they use to pop the beads on,Stuff is slicker than snot.
