24...it is way more marketable....There is another number 24 in racing that had done pretty well even though it is on four wheels.

What should I run? 24 or 123?

actually I can choose from 19, 20, 21, 24, and 28, but the others dont have as much meaning as 24 and 123.
Can you run numbers in AMA (MX/SX) with a zero in front?

We had a touring car driver back home who used 05 (R.I.P Brocky) which ended up being probably the most famous number in Australian motorsport ever (I think the original idea behind the number was education for the public on drink driving - .05 is the legal limit for BAC). My point is, they had a round of the world touring car championship in Australia one year (which he won....) where they did not allow him to have the zero in front of his number...

How is 24 more marketable? I like the 123 number better myself, kinda says to me, I'm fast and I don't need a low number to prove it to anyone. I think of a few guys when I see 24, Jeff Gordon being one of them. When I see 123, your the only name that pops into my head.

This isn't my kid, but a friends kid who is a big fan of yours. This picture hangs in his room. Just thought I'd share.

Most old school guys like myself would go for the 24.

It would even be cooler if everyone ran the numbers they earned, not the numbers they are "entitled to have".

I used to love the start of each season with everyone with a new number, both with the AMA and World MX.

Tough call.

The 123 is instantly recognizable as you and does make you stand out in the front of the pack a bit, but later in life, it will definitely be cooler to say "I was National #24" than "I was National #123.

On the other hand, you are very well known as #123. In some ways, it's like Travis Pastrana changing his number to 198.

On the other, other hand, Psychcle's #24 preview image looks pretty good...

Confused? Yeah, me too. Good luck with whatever # you decide to run.

the real question here is:

WWRMD???

(what would rick melon do)

ultimately, he has the final say over all things 123 related.

the end.

Here's an idea that might be fun:

Have your clothing sponsor make up two jerseys. One with #123 and one with #24. Whichever fan comes up with the most compelling reason for one number versus the other gets the jersey with the number you DID NOT choose.

Great way to promote your sponsor, involve your fans and someone gets a collectible, one-off jersey.

I would keep 123. If you run #24 people may still associate that number with Josh Grant seeing as he did run that number at Factory Connection Honda and with you switching to FC Honda it may just blend your identity with his.

I Know Josh’s number has been #20, but he has not used that number much seeing as hes always hurt.

BTW; Whats Honda want you to run?

#123 that's the way it should be!

3-digits are sick!

Are you planning on launching a new video game, doing some kids bedding, or a new toy line? If so a permanent number is branding money, whether it's 123, or 24?

Going to Honda? Ok then, it's settled - 123.

Both Josh Grant and Ernie Fonseca wore #24 on Hondas. Be unique.

Besides, 3-digit factory riders are cool. Remember that #934 guy that almost put it to Mcgrath for the SX Championship back in 2000?

Is 24 the only 2 digit number available??
I understand that 24 was your am number but since you have been here the 123 has been pretty good to ya.
I like 123... its you. But if you want to change to get a lower perm number I would look for the lowest number and make that yours...

I'd go with 24. It leaves room for more "cool kind" stickers on your number plate. Best of luck Mr. Metcalfe
