Has anyone herd anything on this? I seen a track map a month or so ago with a metal ramp for the face of a double. Are they actually going through with that??

They had it last year too. I thought it was crazy. But if you notice, it is filled in on the backside, so you can roll it, if you need to.

The MC invitational a few years ago had one. I don't think they had one at the monster cup.

Last metal ramp I remember was at the SuperMoto finals here in Vegas a few years back. Noisy sucker as I remember.

The metal ramp should be present this year along with some 100 ft triples.

Personally, I'm not too into it, but I think these racers just might be good enough to handle it if there is one.

No more metal ramp last I heard. Just a big ol' triple.

The JMI event in LA had monster metal ramps. US Open and MEC have never had one as of yet. Well until today I guess.

I was at the MC invitational and yes they had the metal ramps. No dirt filled in on the backside either. It was coming right out of a corner. I remember seeing some guys have to skip it a couple times since everyone was bunched up right after the start and they couldn't get a good drive to jump it. TP199 also backflipped it during one of his head to head races if I remember correctly. I can't find my personal pictures/video on my old pc but I found this pic from vital of the ramps courtesy of Guy B.

These pics were during the building process of the track. It was much wider once they put all the ramps together.

Yeah, believe Josh Grant about died when he barely stayed on the edge of the ramp coming out of the corner. I think that moment alone probably scared off anyone thinking of doing it again, although having it sent into a dirt mound would make it much safer.

You're right. I remember it being Grant on his sobe samsung 250 but I wasn't sure. Great race and I loved the head to head format as well.

I can see positives and negatives of using them. The obvious positive is the takeoff is consistent and won't develop any dangerous ruts or kickers. The downside is if someone swaps into it or crashes for any reason on the face it is going to be VERY ugly. Just because of that I don't think it's a good idea in a racing situation where pretty much anything happen. Chances are incredibly slim, but stranger things have happened.

Ok, sorry guys. Maybe they didn't. But it sure seems like it was on the green arrow track map last year. Hey, I just turned 49. Memory's goin' fast. But I do remember Mcgrath's race. It was do or die. They had side lanes with a penalty, didn't they ?
