Excellent bench racing ammo!

And maybe add this: The first "official" AMA Supercross, the 1974 Daytona race, was won by Pierre Karsmakers on a Yamaha in the 250 class. (Roger DeCoster won the 500s on a Suzuki.) The race was the first round of the first AMA Supercross Championship, though at the time it was called the "AMA/Yamaha Super Series of Stadium Motocross." Yes, Yamaha was the title sponsor, so maybe that early commitment to stadium motocross pays off at the start of each decade.

I wonder who the first Factory Yamaha rider will be to end the streak? That would be a bummer. Maybe Ryder DiFrancesco in 2030.
