Probably ought to amend that to those in the process of rendering medical aid.

Mistakes happen, it wasn't blatant.....people need to grow up.

Agreed, good response. Very necessary though. You are right, mistakes do happen. That’s why the apology is needed. I think McAdoo learned from the situation. He probably won’t take that risk again.

There were no red flag issues i saw.
But i think both Cooper and Mcadoo failed to show the right amount of caution until they were past the incident.
Red Cross Flag:
“Competitors must show extreme caution, slow down, maintain position, not gain an advantage and wheels of the motorcycle must not leave the ground between the flag and the incident.”

Sure its hard to do in the heat of the battle. But its not me saying that they must exercise extreme caution. Its the rules the riders signed up to and should be judged by.

So rider following the rider in front at walking pace Is at fault when someone crosses the track and runs into him.
Without the medic having no track awareness this doesn’t happen.

Let’s be real. The medic was rushing to check on a downed rider that wasn’t moving. His priority wasn’t crossing the track safety.
Macadoo is racing a dirt bike. Even at a slowed down pace, this all happens in the blink of an eye. It’s unfortunate but not worth getting riled up about. I’m sure AMart has no hard feelings toward the medic or macadoo - so just let it go, it’s racing.

Have more than two fucking red flags at the race would have solved everything....the minute AMart hit the ground he was out cold and was in about eighth place. The fact that they couldn’t stop the race and the riders before they came around again is a fuck up...the fact that the Red Cross flag guy knew the the race was under red flag conditions but did not have a red flag himself or someone there with a red flag is a fuck up...those riders should never have been in that lane headed towards AMart....They all have headsets and radio communication and you tell me that they couldn’t stop this race before these guys came around again...total screw up by AMA/race control.
To be fair, Don. This entire season is fucked, from the flaggers to the real time positioning. When they were coming up on Troll I was like WHERE THE FUCK ARE THE FLAGGERS?! AMA/ Feld need to get their shit together.

The whole problem is that they didn't throw the red flag for leaders.
When the medic saw a red flag he assumed it was safe to jump out there, not knowing that the top 5(?) didn't receive the red flag.
Wackers didn't do anything wrong, he was going plenty slow (same pace as rider in front AND behind him) and going where he was directed to.
If blame has to be placed, it should be on the AMA.
They need to allocate some of their profits to a better flagging system.

WTH are you talking about? The Medic flag trumps all flags. The guy with the medic flag was waving them off the track. The red flag is irrelevant. What they need to do is educate the riders and the fans on the rules.

Only just listened to Cameron on Pulp. Fact of the matter is, he seen the Red Cross flag, knew a rider was down, yet continued to race right past the down rider.

Bottom line is if he had of obeyed the flag properly, he could of avoided the medic. Very lucky that no one was seriously injured.

And if the AMA/race control would have acted properly and stopped the race before they got there we wouldn’t be having this discussion...did Mcadoo make a mistake yes was it all avoidable by doing a better job with the red flag yes...unfortunately the medic had been told in his headset that the race had been red flagged he had no idea that there would be riders on the track when he stepped in front of Cooper and Mcadoo...and that’s why I think the AMA and race control play a big part in this mess...it was all avoidable if they had a properly placed red flag

The incident had nothing to do with the red flag. There was a Red Cross medic flag at the start of the rythem section that Mcadoo admitting to seeing.

The medic has every right to assume that a rider who’s just rolled a whole section wouldn’t try to get into race speed while going around a down rider. On lap one to boot, as though McAdoo was running out of time to keep in touch with the rider in front Dry

Oh I must of misheard Camerons interview. If there wasn’t a medic flag why did he roll the jumps coming into that corner? Could have sworn Cameron said he seen the medic flag, rolled the triple because of it, and seen the downed rider at the end of the section.

Surely there were enough signs to suggest that perhaps trying to get into full race speed around a downed rider isn’t the best idea.

So you think they red flagged the race properly by throwing the red flag to the 10th place rider at the finish line jump missing the entire top ten and then not red flagging them for half of a lap?...you are missing my point...

No penalties. This has nothing to do with the riders at all.

I understand that at normal speed things are happening fast, but the safety crew set up a really bad situation. AMart is down in the upper corner of the turn, the tough block was not dropped protecting AMart and the medical crew, the safe exit was blocked, the track safety guy is on the inside of the turn (a useless position), and then the medical crew guy runs onto the course with his back to traffic... what could go wrong. Also why is the other track guy picking up the bike instead of helping to manage the situation.

Maybe Daniel could have an interview with the safety crew and talk about steps to improve managing problems on the track.

Red flag is irrelevant. The medic flag for that section (which he rolled that section for) should have sufficed if he had of obeyed the medic flag.

We are only talking about this because a MEDIC AND RIDER GOT HIT.

You can make up all kinds of what if's that don't matter, reality is what DID happen.

What DID happen was 1 rider fucked up and came into the scene too hot, not exercising due caution for the flag that he ADMITS he saw.

Mistakes happen. At the end of the day, McAdoo caused no serious harm, and I'm sure he, nor the medic, will make the same type of mistakes again. Moving on... Does anyone else think that McAdoo kind of looks like Jimmy Neutron?

Don't worry the teams, FELD and the AMA are meeting and will remedy these problems during the break and let vital know of the corrections before Daytona.

HTF can you Vitards blame the Medic. The track was closed. Cooper opened it back up. If you think he would not have hit that medic if he was in the same spot as when CM hit him your a moran.

Here is a little something about racing not many around here even have a clue about. When your racing the guy in front of you it's common to expect him to react to a situation and you follow that lead. That's just the way it is done. I am sure I will get told how worthless I am for trying to educate the dumb and dumber here.

I have been reading this thread and you cant be real LKHill?

You just said that "the track was closed." It was not to the 5 leaders. They had not seen a red flag yet. So your whole premise is based on something that is not true. They saw a red cross flag and were doing exactly what a red cross flag tells them to do. Slow down and not jump anything.

Then you say ""you follow that lead" and that is exactly what Macadoo did. He followed Cooper into the corner and took the exact same line as Cooper at the same speed. What was the difference? A medic stepped in front of Macadoo that I am fairly certain he was not expecting the medic to do that.

I don't even understand the outrage. Had the Medic not assumed the leaders knew a red flag was thrown on the other side of the track at the finish line I am pretty sure he would not have stepped in front of Macadoo. And Had Macadoo known there was a redflag waving, again, on the other side of the track, he would have slowed down.

Offer it up? How do you fix it?

IMO no one else did anything wrong, they maintained control. Racing up until the incident is legal.

Lols. Have you ever organised a race meeting? You cannot have random officials and crew running around with red flags. Only the race director has the authority to use it. The medical flag is first used to signal race control of a possible serious incident and then as a warning flag, depending.
