What an odd site for the sale. Its got a 3 min video which is primarily motocross related. Most people that might buy a property that size probably don't care much about seeing people jump bikes.

For us people, it was cool.

I agree (somewhat). I believe they are trying to market it to a motocross athlete for sure, followed by horse/cattle ranchers. I'm probably way off but it seems like this plot of land can only be pretty much used for ranching. Not a super great place for a track if indeed it's all "flat". But a supercross guy might not care about that, and it obviously had some huge features for Hodges.

It is 680 acres though. That would bring in a lot of money, no matter where it is.

just sold 640 here in michigan....for a fraction of that. literally peanuts in comparison....so your statement is kinda wrong. Our piece sat on market for 11 years. ;/

It's all about the price per acre in a given area. Those prices vary greatly and are determined by many different factors.

|

Its probably up for sale because someone told him he or "they" could get him 7 million for the property, I doubt he is hurting for money just from the dollar amount its listed for.

I get that, 680 acres of swamp land in Louisiana isn't worth much. Like they said above, the California cost of living tax adds a few pennies.

I don't even want to think about what the property tax is on a place like that.

Maybe he figures it'll probably burn up next summer like the rest of CA...so he's getting rid of it and moving to "greener" pastures?

He is moving to Idaho before the exit tax starts.

I am so sorry to hear, I pray you'll be able to decide on which of the many, many iconic riding spots you have to choose from to go roost this weekend.

|

Man, that's a rough looking piece of land. I can't imagine what you would do with that land to justify the asking price. Is that an area where you can sub-divide and develop it? Or just build a landing strip for drug runners from Mexico?

Haha! The struggle is real.

It just really chaps my ass that Day in the Dirt and the Lake Elsinore Grand Prix are always on back to back weekends. Who is in charge of scheduling these things anyway?!

I get angry when I have to pay my bills, but then I realize that I am in paradise.

Well, the good (and bad) part of his place is that it's off the beaten path. You have to want to find it. But it's also not convenient to get to.

Sounds like you need some Amish around. Lots of family farms going under around here, including my grandparents, and they come in and pay cash. They just bought a 800 acre farm for just under $2 million with cash. Around here tillable or managed Forrest land goes for around $500-1000 per acre. Unless it has a view of a lake then the sky is the limit.

California has relatively low property tax.

Between this post and your “deal of the day” thread, you need to step away for a couple days. Smh.

When the king “sells” the end is near, the sport is in massive decline. Don’t think so, look for your favorite magazine on the grocery store shelf. Just a small indicator, ladies, don’t get your panties in a wad and go in hate mode.

Love the set-up and kinda dig the rustic vibe to the property and living quarters but the Walmart Intex pool is weak sauce. A spread like that deserves a proper outdoor entertainment space with an IG pool.

C'mon now, Showtime!
