Maybe Tomac withdrew from MXDN because he could not afford it?

A Sunday adult ticket for the event is $96

A child ticket is $44

Perhaps Tomac didn't want to fork out all that money to get his family in!

That's a LOT of money for a motocross event isn't it? And before people say it I know formula one etc is even more but they are higher profile sports at permanent facilities.

I would bet he can afford it but I'm sure how expensive it is was one of many factors. I think Langston said he spent like $10,000 on plane tickets to get his family to the event.

The tickets have to be so expensive to cover all the purse money they give out.

I doubt seriously the finances entered into his decision. I promise you, if Monster told him to go...he'd be there. If Kawasaki told him to go...he'd be there. I understand the number of races US riders have to ride in a season but personally, I think...he just didn't want to go unless there was all but a guaranteed win for the team.

He withdrew because he just don't wanna race the USGP. Monster makes him race the USGP so he says f*ck you then I don't race the MXDN. The timing of the MXDN is off, but it was always off. Monster Cup is there, but there was always Monster/Rockstar Energy US Open there. Whats new this last years? The USGP and the riders who get forced into riding it just aren't candidate to race the MXDN. Because they can choose to say no to their national federation, but they can't say no to their teams who wanna see them in the USGP.

Ok I feel the need to (surprisingly) clarify that the Tomac thing was sarcasm. I started the thread to make the point about the ticket prices.

I shouldn't have mentioned Tomac, I didn't want it to descend into more reasons he doesn't want to represent his country. I'm sorry

Change your mind Tomac.
Your time is now in 2017.
This is your legacy.
In ten years while looking at the trophy you won't remember being tired.
Make it a great story and go, be like Rocky and win for us.

Or how about this, 10 years down the line looking back, has only the one outdoor title, as coming into the supercross he's always tired, doesn't do many more seasons, retires early. Burnout!

And even the guy who came a lap from winning it all for team USA last year has said he's not sure he'd go either. But obviously the Vital Brain Trust knows better.
