Strong words from a guy that really hasn't done too much. It looks as though he was riding good, hopefully he can back up his words with maximum points in the future.
"I realized when I was about 10 years old and I raced Jeffrey in the sand. I know I’m the fastest. He knows I’m the best"
"Any day of the week, anywhere, any track, I will do amazing things. That’s what I do."

"I realized when I was about 10 years old and I raced Jeffrey in the sand. I know I’m the fastest. He knows I’m the best. There’s no one that can do things that I can do. Who else jumped the quad? I know it’s not by chance,"
They/He (him and his father) displayed this attitude when he was in the US, which is why they where sent packing I think.
Herlings has waxed Anstie since Max has been in GPs, pretty impressive for Max to think he is still better lol
Bring on Thailand!
And jumping the quad was just a big risk, Pretty sure others could've done it too, but I know Herlings for one has his share of DNF's due to broken rims/spokes (Dutch championship anyway). It looked rough every time Anstie did it.
But all things aside, he deserved a moto win last weekend. Hope he can show some more good rides this year!
that said, watched the race last night and he was walking away with the win 2nd moto, great to see him finally riding like he should. anyone know what happened to his bike in both motos?
Very interesting interview, though I have to say I think he's being overly hard on himself for his problems in Qatar. Something came loose in moto one (OK he was jumping the quad but it should be able to take that) and then in the 2nd moto it looks like he got screwed over by a rock. All the while with food poisoning too. There you go.
But anyway, this MX2 class is really starting to get exciting again. Can't wait for the next one.
Well done to Max for having the same mindset as Jeffrey! Bring it on!!
I'm not his biggest fan , but he does things the right way , and doesnt ever take himself seriously
Herlings: Yes, I just gave these guys hope, and I just want to go there to Thailand, and destroy those guys, I will try and dominate and try and win by 20 seconds plus. I mean here in Qatar I might have still beaten Anstie even if he didn’t DNF, but I know what the problems are and it is all in the starts. The track wasn’t difficult, shorter motos, and it was all about the starts. I will be okay in Thailand.
Im thinking thats why anstie is sounding so brash.
Pit Row
Not afraid to throw em
I hope Ansti stays after it, Herlings needs to be challenged.

I read the interview and wasn't sure if he was serious or not (hope not)
Weird interview tho!
Just a second...
I don't understand, maybe he should just turn into weimer and lose all faith he can win or run with the winners.
Jeffrey Herlings @JHerlings84 Aug 31
Back in time.. Hahaha @maxanstie
i think its good to see him showing this amount of confidence and while it definitely doesn't necessarily come across too well in text, i think he was just really expressing the relief that after all these years, he's finally on a team/bike/programme where he can win races
obviously i knew these comments would raise some eyebrows but i prefer interviewing guys who actually say stuff, and i hope Max backs them up in future races
but than max steped up to the big bike's, but his riding not. this whas his first race where i saw the old Max from the 85. and on that level he can beat Herlings.
Max, keep away from mushrooms
