From Matthes twitter

"Methinks that Casey Stoner and RV are going to have more in common than we thought here soon...or I could be wrong again"

I take that as Matthes saying RV is retiring? If that's not what he meant
maybe he could elaborate more.

EDIT: Matthes admitted he was referring to RV retiring in a later Twitter exchange.

Don't post second hand rumors on here. RV will blame us instead of Matthes.

Obviously Matthes thinks he's got a scoop.

I may be (most likely) in the minority here, but I actually wouldn't be disappointed if RV retired, and I'm an RV fan. He has put forth a ton of work, worked his ass off, came back from injury, stayed loyal to the same sponsors throughout his career, hasn't seemed to be caught up in numbers or stats and made a ton of money doing so. I actually would respect him more for walking away and not chasing the elusive numbers and stats with his health (relatively speaking) intact.

I will bet anyone $2000 that he is retiring.

It sounds to me like he might go race Moto GP...Interesting, didn't see that coming!

retiring this week or just at some point?

Hum. I do not know what to say, Matthes got some scoops too.

If it happens, here I would be surprised but not that surprised, as the pressure & sacrifices at that level are huge.

If RV wants no pressure & less sacrifices, bring him the UK or in Italy, I am sure he can find a factory team there, for fun.

i really hope he doesn't retire before the 2015 series. the sport will move on as always, but it will still be a disappointing day when it happens.

He already said he is racing the Outdoors, so Matthes may just be stirring the pot a bit.

Yeah I don't really get it either, but I can't see what else Matthes would be referring too. Especially with the retirement rumors going around lately.

When is Matthes retiring?

I'm tired of being told who's doing anything.

What's up with Stoner hanging around Villopoto? And where is his wife? Did they broke up or something?

Edit: nevermind, found them happily together Smile

That's a pretty deep v Ryan has on. Any speculation why he chose to wear a blue, horizontally striped shirt rather than vertical stripes in any other color?

Stoner retired from Honda after he rode the dismal ducati. Though he was the ONLY one to master the red demon.

Why not retire when your on top?

He will always be known as the best rider of this current generation (7,5,22,41,94,3, ect). I wonder if the knee injury has anything to do with the decision (if it's actually true) and not wanting to have to come back from yet another injury.
