The mechanic should at least be able to have a crack at it, it's as much their baby as it is the riders.

I would find it the most entertaining if a guy who made the main via the last spot in the LCQ did one.

Burnouts are cool. What kind of sad life do you have to live to not enjoy roasting a tire?

What would make for a better celebration? Tea and crumpets?
Smoke and a pancake.

They burn out till the tire pops, right? Obviously it's not good for the engines but after winning a title, I don't think they care. I love Matthes but it's pretty funny to bitch about how someone celebrates winning a championship at the highest level in a sport that we're all passionate about.

Matthes and Weege both mentioned that they're running the bikes until they grenade!! Aren't they just running the bikes until the tire pops? That seems a little weird to just explode the bike for no reason lol .

Burnouts?

Meh, they are sad things in my estimation, when they are not done for a real purpose.

But hey, they can do what they want, it's fair enough when you are hyped up about winning.

I just wish when riders are celebrating a win, that they'd show just a bit of that incredible throttle control they have, and just back the throttle off that tad, and get the fuck off the rev limiter. An engine revved well, can truly sound like a symphony. But 'popping' - 'hammering' on a rev limiter? It's one of the most shithouse sounds in the world.

Burnout after a championship is only proper. Let the guys celebrate. Everyone already bitches that they don't show any emotion.

Hearing that Matthes is spewing this garbage isn't surprising at all.

Chalk this one up to the fact that people just looooove to bitch about something. Here's a thought for Matthes and anyone else griping about this: it's not your bike, your team, your budget, your championship, or your celebration. Watch the vid and look at how much the whole team is enjoying it - that's all that really matters.

Matthes? Heh, he's just a little slow. Give him a few years to catch up and he'll be a burnout fan. He used to piss and moan about my 125 and 2 stroke rants but a couple years later he's all up into building 2 strokers. Old ones even....

And here is the beauty of opinions, mine is the complete opposite. Don't get me wrong, I'm not stomping my feet calling for the end of burnouts but as someone who rides for an hour and maintains his his bike 2, I cringe when I see them.

I guess Matthes doesn't know that down here in 'Merica we never turn down the chance to burn or blow things up if we can also drink beer while we're doing it.......while wearing a Viking Helmet.

Outfuckingstandable!

Looking forward to hearing Ando's response when Matthes asks him about the burnout.

burnouts are cringe-worthy. They sound like shit, the smoke smells like shit, they go on for WAY too long...and are just silly.

My .02. Thanks for asking.

That wasn’t an opinion. I was stating indisputable scientific fact, to suggest otherwise is delusional at best and purposeful falsification of reality at worst.

all music

butterfly's
the name tinkerbell

Think that sums up most of it.

This right here. Walking this tightrope for 18 weekends from start to finish, then finally getting to take in a full breath must feel pretty good. Let em have at it-no harm, no foul. I especially enjoyed watching DeCoster mount that steed and light it up. Thought that was really cool.

Matthes just likes to start shit so he can stay relevant. It's the Fox News-MSNBC approach to journalism (lower case because it's not).

Say something inflammatory knowing everyone will talk about it.

...and here we are, 3 pages deep, feeding his ego because we're talking about him, which keeps him relevant.

Next time he says something stupid...which should be any minute now. Just let it go so he fades away.

And for the record...BURNOUTS...BURNOUTS...AND MORE BURNOUTS. The celebration is for the rider and the team. Not for everyone else...we just get to enjoy right along with them.

I have never thought about bitching over burnouts, ex champs on the microphone, or good looking women with 50% or more skin visible. Maybe these complainers are not outstandable fans. Wish I could say, "I've seen them enjoy something in practice! ".

I agree with literally everything you said... That's all.
