Marvin Musquin's Illegal Gear

According to the AMA Rulebook, the gear that Marvin was running in Anaheim should be illegal for competition (with the exception of the Las Vegas round). The Star Racing riders and Cooper Webb ran the gear during qualifying, but changed for the night show. What is everyone's opinion concerning this? If a privateer were to wear a similar gear, how do you think the AMA would react?

Just remove the AMA. Rules for numbers and name, the production rule etc.

So this is what we're concerned with now

When you can do a sick heel clicker you can do whatever you want.

Old rule written before transponders. They don’t need your name or number on the shirt anymore, the transponder tells them everything they need to know.

Disqualified!!!! Eli should be 1 point ahead of him!!! silly

|

Think it's kind of a silly old rule that needs to go away.....just nobody has erased it yet. With AMA and Feld.....they should get around doing so by about the year 2032. Give or take a year.

And there goes Jeffro. One of God's own prototypes. A super high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

I was kind of wondering last night if that rule had been dropped........

Can you imagine if he'd been DQ'd for this? laughing

Oh, FFS.

I didn't know either. If I were another team with a chance of the championship I would protest.

What if they still score by hand as a back up?

much ty. How to spot a paid forum poster/artificial forum traffic producer (see list of actions/phrases below):

Copius pattern amounts of phrases like “Anyone have”..., “Anybody know?”.... and their variations.

Thoughts?
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Off topic but does anyone know if Thor plans to release this gear? Didn’t see anything about it on their website.

I think JTs mom does this. Or did.

Didn't realize that's a rule, interesting, seems trivial at first thought and needs to be removed from the rulebook.

The SX series has its own rule book. It doesn't just follow the FIM GP rule book, or else there wouldn't still be the production rule.

I could see them enforcing it moving forward, but certainly can't see them docking positions or points retroactively. I'm a little bit surprised that no one caught it before the main unless he hadn't worn that type jersey at all before the main.

Technically all the examples you listed would be legal for the AMA because they have a contrasting outline around them. Hahaha. But in all seriousness the rule is completely irrelevant anymore. Transponders tell all.

|

You said it all when you say AMA. The best thing for this sport in general is for the AMA to leave.

The AMA isn't wrong. You couldn't read that stuff from the stands.
