Did anyone else catch the charge Garrett Marchbanks put on in the second moto of 450B class this weekend at the Millcreek SE Regional? After a horrible start and crossing the finish line in 18th on the first lap, he was clearly the fastest rider on the track finishing the 5 lap race in 2nd.
Not only was he the fastest rider in that race, he was several seconds faster that any A class rider the entire weekend! The kid turned consistent lap times og 1:58 and 1:59, not only in that race, but was sub 2:00 in other moto as well. No A class rider was able to get below the 2:03 mark all weekend! I see him being very hard to beat coming into the National.. And next year? Hmmm..

I kid. I remember when he used to train at ClubMX a few years ago. The kid is no doubt really really fast, but I've learned to keep all the amateur stuff in perspective.
Don't get ahead of yourself.

kind of cool but back when he and Pierce were starting out i was still racing and i'd go to the track with Pierce and his dad all the time. they were on little KTM 50's at the track, nothing special just a couple little young dudes that liked riding dirt bikes. fast forward to present time and they are two of the fastest amateurs in the country, one Monster and the other RedBull, and both from Utah to boot. pretty amazing. can't wait to see what happens at LL this year, it's such a stacked class.
i rode with Pierce last month in the desert and the kid just flat hauls ass. i told his dad to put him in an offroad race and see how he does, my guess is he'd be at the front of the A class in the desert. unreal technique.
