Vital could really use more members like Marty. Passionate but in a great way. Ride Fast young man - to where ever you go.

Coming to LL's is always a bummer, because I was here when Hoppy called and told me, I had to go tell teggers, and I admit, I welled up to near crying when I told him.

I still have his sticker on my truck, and I am a guy who doesn't like that kinda memorial stuff, but for Marty, I make an exception.

He was a good guy, good friend.
Aren't too many people that I get all soft about losing after a few years pass, but with Marty, I do.
And I get mushy and sentimental every year that I come here to LL's

By the way, the bear in my avatar is named "Marty," in his honor

I did not know Marty personally but I do remember reading some of his posts on the old MD site before it became Vital. He seemed like a good guy and definitely someone I would of loved to of met and did some riding with. RIP marty......you must of been a hell of a dude to have so many moto brothers remember you this long.

hey Tim, I forgot about this thread and as I was reading this I flashed back to the late 1990's when these online forums were getting started. "Wild west," "Romper room," Hard to believe it's been 20 years that we have all been bench racing, arguing, and debating.. Marty did love to mix it up and was never shy to express his opinion. If he's looking down on us right now I hope he laughs and a smile

Thanks, Tim.

Every time I go to Bithlo to see Dean, I remember him.

Still miss him all these years later

I am sorry you posted that assholes name..... but a bit of history.

Marty (marcad57) was pretty strong about his feelings and he would be on this in a second.....

He was a huge RC4 fan and stuck up for him on the old boards.

For those of you that do not know.... RC16 Rich Cain
He sued "hatedman" , the owner of Bithlo, for falling off his bike.
Check the history.

I miss TFS as well.

We were not close friends, but knew each other through photography over many years.
We spent 10 minutes at LL's one year and it is just like it happened yesterday. (He cleaned my camera sensor in his motorhome.)
We had a press table next to each other at the MXDN in the Netherlands and he was so awesome.

He treated my correctly. He taught me a few things about people that I have retained. I appreciate his time with me. Really, a good guy.

Actually was speaking with TFS at Washougal when he and RC sharing the news while RC was on the line for moto 2. I always loved Marcad's comebacks on folks ripping Stew.

Miss Steve, too. People got him wrong if they were tweaked by his board personality. The guy definitely loved a tussle, but there wasn't a more generous guy in the pits and it was never personal unless you made it so, then it was. I don't think folks appreciate how much pressure he got being in the middle while MT was at its heyday.

I said his name because I met them at the same time at Dade City.
Sad that the 2 took different paths in life, 1 loved, 1 not so much!
